When I first heard this song, I took it as having a message similar to that of "Easier Than Love" from their last album. Many people these days are so eager for "love" that they'll do whatever feels good to obtain it. The world teaches that if you love your girlfriend or boyfriend, you should have sex with him/her. Teenagers these days have become confused by this worldly message, and many are so hungry for love that they'll indulge in sexual activities for temporary gratification. "Let's do it again!" refers to how young people keep falling into these same traps because they want to do what feels good, without considering the consequences. |

| The Shins – Fighting In A Sack Lyrics
|
Isn't this song about not making the same mistakes over and over again? I guess if you atheists are so anti-religion that you'll find themes supporting your opinions in EVERYTHING...then whatever. But when it says, "Leave our fathers fighting in a sack" I also thought it's stating that the mistakes of our fathers should not be made again unless we want to be stuck in that same "sack" ourselves further down the road.
I've heard atheist songs before, and this doesn't sound like one. Usually it's in your face, with cussing, lip rings, drugs, and burning crosses. The Shins aren't like that. |

My favorite song on Nothing is Sound. I actually find it uplifting rather than depressing. I mean, it talks about how the world will cave in and "the hungry and poor and desserted our found." |

All the Pinkerton buffs hate this song because it doesn't say, "YOU'RE ASIAN AND I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU LOL!" It's a great song, and you know it. |

This song is obviously about taking your favorite girl to a seafood restaurant and treating her to a delicious crab dish. If you want her, buy her a crab! She'll love you then put her knickers on which look hawt compared to the sweatpants she usually wears. They also show off her booty, so buy her more crab to keep seeing her cute booty. And she won't be coming back round here no more, so hurry up and buy him some effing crab!!! |

Typical Pinkerton. Guess what, Rivers? No one wants to care about how you whack off all day because you can't get a girlfriend. |

This song is for all you liberals who live in the basement and selfishly feed of your parents' money. Get up and get a job, hippies. |

kt_sd, Pinkerton has cussing and sex talk galore. One of the many reasons it's my least favorite of the Weezer albums. |

| Weezer – My Name Is Jonas Lyrics

Anyone with half a brain can tell that this song is about how the liberals believe there should be no private ownership. We're sitting here with our train or building industries when suddenly the socialists in government take them away from us. We remember the days when grandma made us tea and the government stayed out of our economy. |

| Weezer – Freak Me Out Lyrics

This song is about how Middle Eastern terrorists are constant bombing our children while the liberals sit on their hands and do nothing about it. They're saying. "You freak me out so we're just gonna let you be! BTW, here's a drink for you." |

| Weezer – El Scorcho Lyrics
|
|
"El Scorcho" is Mexican slang for a politician who burns through tax dollars. This is exactly what the song El Scorcho is about. Bill Clinton wasn't doing anything useful with America's money, so Rivers decided to step up and do something to protest about it. Unfortunately, nerdy emo kids who have never talked to a girl interpreted this song the wrong way so everyone thinks it is about how Rivers can't say he's in love with a girl. "I'm falling for you" could also mean "I voted for you last election, but you don't have my vote anymore, sucker!" |

I met Rivers and he told me Across the Sea is actually about this Japanese restaurant he ate at on tour. It was 18 years old but really clean and very delicious, so Rivers gave his address and thanks to the owner who writes him often. He is singing to various parts of the restauant, including the employees and food. If you don't believe me ask Rivers himself. |
