Muse – Hoodoo Lyrics 19 years ago
Given that the rest of this album is not terribly sympathetic to our leaders, i would disagree that this song is from their perspective.

I think it has more to do with fate and self sacrafice. KNowing that there is an easy way, but that way ultimately leads to failure and dissatisfaction.

The Pussycat Dolls – Buttons Lyrics 19 years ago
I have to agree with a couple of the people wondering why this song is on a lyrical meaning site.

She's horny and he's not putting out. The mildly interesting aspect of this is that it's the female trying to "get some," as opposed to a guy singing about the girl not putting out enough.

But honstly, there is no "meaning" to be gleamed from this. It's yet another product in a long line of mass-produced marketing ploys by major record companies.

Muse – Supermassive Black Hole Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm a little irked by all of the people who said "yay" to the fact that this is more poppy than anything else muse has done; muse going"pop rock" would make me hurt something.

That said, the whole song is very neat and clean, almost purposfuly sounding manufactured. I think it's fitting due to the nature of the lyrics...I mean, they are about someone superficial and apparently self absorbed. It still has that larger than life Muse sound though, and Matt's voice is still amazing. But yeah, this seems like a major deviation from the rest of the album since it seems mostly political.

Perhaps this song could represent the monitary obsession of modern culture..or Matt and the guys just felt like being a bit odd :)
Likely, it's just to appeal to the less clever audience who is too dumb to stomach the classic muse sound

Muse – Knights of Cydonia Lyrics 19 years ago
This song reminds me of what would happen if the band Rush had a baby with the wild west and the megaman games, and gave it to muse to raise as their own.

I think it's in the same vein as Butterflies and Hurricanes, I think. Basicaly a call to arms; sort of a "no one is going to save us so we have to save ourselves" sort of thing. It's a wonder Matt hasn't tried to start some sort of revolution or something...but hey, he's still young. ;)

The Cooper Temple Clause – Who Needs Enemies? Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's more like using people who thought that you were their friend. Giving into the temptations of gain through the destruction of others etc etc etc

But yes, The Cooper Tmple Clause is the sex

Cake – Frank Sinatra Lyrics 20 years ago
The ancient radiation could be refering to the signal or "echo" that scientists have discovered that came from the big bang (theoreticaly). That could be a metaphor for some big change or another that haunts the "dismembered constallations", or the people who were effected by it.

So I'm kind of in agreeance with most of the people, it has to do with the past and not being able to forget about it while the modern media takes advantage of us.

Muse – Apocalypse Please Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this song sets the tone for the alblum, I mean it is a pretty apocalyptic piece when viewed from one perspective. At first I thought that this song should have gone at the end, but then i thought about it; "apocalypse please" is kind of subtitle for the alblum, pointing out what is, I think, supposed to be the theme.

It could also be Matt trying to get a rise out of all of us...you just wait, one day he's gonna have his own little army of fanatics marching on all of the world's capitals.

Muse – Time Is Running Out Lyrics 20 years ago
Given the obvious apocalyptic nature of the alblum (I read somewhere a quote of him saying that Absolution is basicly about the "end of the world", or something similar, and the many different reactions to it) the song is probably a reference to someone trying to escape from a false utopia-something beautiful, but in the end self destructive.

I think he has a habbit of making his lyrics general enough so that more "normal" people can apply it to mundane issues...like drugs and relationships.
