The Smiths – Bigmouth Strikes Again Lyrics 20 years ago
From what I understand, the Cure had a hit that kept the Smiths from hitting #1 in the British charts. This song was a total rant to Robert Smith by Moz and Marr.

The Smiths – Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me Lyrics 20 years ago
It's how I felt the first night after a very bad break-up. I'm even crying now as I remember it.

The Smiths – Reel Around the Fountain Lyrics 20 years ago
The child who became old, in the manner described by kaguth, was the person the narrator had relations with, no the narrator (Morrissey). Also, bees don't have knees, meaning the person the narrator had relations with was nothing in the eyes of society ("people see no worth in you," and "people said you were virtually dead"). The narrator puts himself in the same category with "and so am I." There is a subtle interpretation where the narrator is young and the other person is much older, but that depends on your personal perspective.

The Smiths – That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore Lyrics 20 years ago
The cold leather seats are analogous to the notion that the thing he desires (the leather seats) is no longer something he desires (being so cold). This is important because it marks the turning point in the song when he realises that anything you desire can turn against you. The reason he will die with a smile on his face is because he will be happier dead than alive. A bit morbid, but my opinion nonetheless.
