This is a great song because it runs deep. I take the main theme as expectations from society, friends and family. In an attempt to appear successful in the eyes of others our author has become something he is not. He lived a life to impress those around him, to fit in so he could live up to their expectations and while it may have worked for a while he feels like he has betrayed himself in the process. The song is a realisation that being 'perfect' or fake wasn't worth it and in all honesty he would rather be on his own than continue lying to himself. |

Guys, we were in such a worse position this time two seasons ago. Granted, it was the affect of a new manager coming in who turned things round. We know Dowie is passionate, we have the players, we just need to pray that Dowie bangs a few heads together and turns things round pretty quickly. Games in hand will still take us into the playoffs. Get behind Dowie and the team. We cant be shite all season. Law of averages says it's impossible, unless you're Brighton or Millwall of course. It will turn around. Great song which surely must be about blink and Tom. It's a great way to respond to Tom's media hype which seems to focus on Mark being to blame for the split of blink. The name 'No it isn't' is also a great choice, Mark saying that it isn't his fault. 'But both my hands are tied And I’m pushed into the deep end I listen to you talk But talk is cheap And my mouth is filled with blood From trying not to speak' These words kind of sum up the whole situation. While Tom has been going to the media promoting his new band as the best ever and hinting that Mark was the reaosn blink broke up Mark has kept quiet even though he probably didn't want to. I think this should confirm to those blink-182 fans in denail that there will be no reuninon. |

This is one of my favourite all time songs, the lyrics are about someone who is not being themself and pretending to be something they're not. They tried to be perfect to fit in with people or a situation but in the end they were just lying to themselves and everyone around. Its a realisation that theyd rather be on their own than carry on pretending to be perfect which is just fake and leaves an empty feeling inside. I can really relate to this song. |
