I used to listen to this song on repeat for hours and hours because I love how it explains the world that we are given by birth, that alienation from those we love as we grow up. Parent and teachers stop understanding as we come into our own... "and this is the sound of the hopeless ones as they stare down at their books and realize they have been lied to" when you find out your father isn't as strong as you always saw him to be, that your mother isn't as understanding as you had hoped, that your teachers don't know everything. It's unsettling and lovely at the same time, as you see those giants fall and make room for you.... I love it all. |
