Just saying the word fuck wasnt completely condemnable but the thought of fuckin your mother was just too much for pop culture to handle at the time so the doors label made them edit out that part in the studio version. The blue rock on a blue bus part was just about cocaine its as simple as that. This song is probably my second favortie doors song second to celebration of the lizard. It kinda makes me want to go on an insane killing rampage then go have a sexual encounter with a giant gold smake in a desert. By the way bigeasy you can keep your idiotic irrelevant ideas to your ignorant little self. |

I wish the who wasnt so desparate for singles at the time that they shortened it down. It originally was a full length rock opera but they cut it down cause their management said they needed singles. this song is absolutely amazing though. |

I dont know if eeryone caught this but this song was recorded entirely improv. If you listen to the beginning of the track you can hear their manager saying "ready to get funky?" then bonham starts with that funky beat. actually this is one of my favorite zeppelin songs just cause they didnt actually mean to write a song right there; they were just jammin. I think thats why the lyrics are a little incoherent and dont really rhyme or anything. I also like this song cause it really shows zeppelins versatility once again. Its a perfect fit for houses of the holy cause that whole album doesnt just follow one pattern like the obvious blues rock of zeppelin 1. |

This was zeppelins least favorite song thats why they never played it live. the all thought it was too "made for radio" and it is one of their more pop influenced songs. Its kinda strange cause it doesnt fit all that well in zeppelin 2 but if you age robert plants voice a little it kinda sounds like it could be on their later stuff like presence or even physical graffitti but thats kinda a stretch. |
