Just a few things: 1 - Calling anyone "un-American" because they are 'rebelling' against what the government thinks is right it completly stupid. Have you ever taken history? This very country was built on the "Founding Fathers" of America rebelling against their king. America is built on freedom of speech and difference of opinion. If everyone thought the same there would be no reason to have laws because everyone would be in the same mindset anyway. 2 - Bush h8ter, will you marry me? lol 3 - The vast majority of people who volunteer for the military are doing so for free education, benefits, good money, etc. There are also people who volunteer for love of country... but tell me this: If you love your country SO much and that is why YOU are in the military, why not donate your money to a charity that directly benefits the well being of American citizens? 4 - I do realize this is a music site, not one to express political viewpoints, but it's songMEANINGS, which in my opinion would entail what you think the song would mean and what its meaning inspires in you. 5 - Why shouldn't musicians discuss politics? It's freedom of expression. Music comes from passion and this, apparently, is what they're passionate about. I like this song... if you don't pay attention to the lyrics (which I didn't the first couple times I heard it... for some reason I thought it was about summer... the party part, you know? I'm going deaf, I swear) it's got a summer feel to it... haha. |
