It's simply an anti-Bush song. No more, no less. It's telling Bush how corrupt he is and that his freedom-fight is doing nothing but actually taking away peoples freedom. Then we have the corrupt stuff. As many of you know the one who writes the songs in Muse is a big fan of conspiracy theories, and who hasn't heard the one about Bush being supported by the weapon industries? I think that is what Muse is trying to hint at. And then last, the burn in hell part is just simply saying that eventually he'll pay for it. Now if this is a death threat from Muse or if they're trying to say that nothing good comes of being evil or whatever, I don't know XD |

The song is about a man, withnessing his love getting robed & harrased by his friends. So he in the end decides to fight back and save her. Its simply about fighting for the one you love, even if she doesn't love you back. The parts about the stalking are the harrasing friends. They sing about the things they are gonna do to her, before we hear the man fight back. I've come to this by watching the music-video and reading the song countless of times. I still think I haven't gotten everything right, but..I think its something like that. Can't Mew just explain it themselfs :(? |
