I have found that as time goes by and I gain expereince in my life, I understand the lyrics more and they come to mean different things to me. The line "Let me scrub that brackish line that you got when something rose and then receded." didn't mean as much to me a year ago as it does know. I know that feeling of hoping for something and thinking you can be happy and then something happens and you're left with nothing except that "brackish line" of memories of hope that you know is impossible now. |

I think it's about people who are having problems and they thought they would be together forever but something's gone wrong and he's trying to figure out where everything went wrong but at the same time trying to move on with his life. I see it as being about friends but I guess it could be about people dating as well. |

This song is one of my favourite songs ever. I think it's about needing change and getting stuck in something that you don't want to be doing anymore. I think it's about learning to move on and get on with your life and being brave enough to do something different. |
