i love this song! i love the melody and the sort of "pop-ness" it exudes. i'm kinda ambivalent over his use of the F-word, although that certainly adds to the whole "feel" of the song.

quite possibly THE BEST SONG i have ever encountered. soooo full of emotion and longing and regret. the "it's never over" verses are, plain and simple, beautiful. i've heard a handful of covers for this song and, surprise surprise, nobody even came close to capturing the essence of the song like Jeff did.
i'm ashamed to say that i've only been introduced to his music about a month or so ago. i can't believe what i've been missing. |

this is an unbelievably beautiful, thoughtful, affecting song. i can't believe this didn't make their third album.
anyway, to me this song is about growing up and breaking out of your shell. there are restrictions that may have been placed there by parents and she wants to live her own life or something. she has all these thoughts of living a perfect life, but she needs to be able to express her ideas and feelings... and she can't do that yet.

for me, i think it's about screwing up and trying really hard to get "back 2 good", then realizing along the way that we're not alone. there are other people too who are trying to get better. |
