Was listening to a live recording at a concert where he explains that this song is about a point in his where he sorta gave up on trying anymore. He had listened too much on what other people said. And how there comes a point where you get jaded about how things happens, and we just let it happen and keep on being jaded. But the song shows how that is not where it has to end. And how this time in our lives there aren't alot of heros but you should find one in yourself and set things right. |

Actually this song as far as I can tell is about the time of troubles in Ireland with England, mainly about what is happening right before and during the "battle" which isn't really that much of a battle considering the size of the IRA during the times I am thinking this happened. Considering when this song came out, it might be talking somewhat about Michael Collins, who was a very influential leader during alot of the oppression that dealt with the troubles and trying to be free from Englands rule. If your interested more in what I am talking about just shoot me a message and I will try to tell you what I can. |

Wow, great song. It reminds me of how it feels to be a so far away but you still love the other... Although the song I have has a small incert in it for some weird reason, it sounds like ben affleck, and some other guy. He says "Where have you been hanging out?" Then the other guy says, "Down at something studios, southren county..." atleast I think that is what he says, I wish to god I knew what movie that is from, it reminds me so much of something but I can never put a word on what it is. |

It's about losing your fait, obviously. But it is about how when you were young your faith was so strong, but as you grow older you see things with a darker twist. So your faith has withered and died. |

Wow, just reading those lyrics brings the meaning of why I first heard them. All because of a girl, she stole my breath away when I saw her. She was most likely the first time I ever fell in love, and yet I only saw her that one night. And our one fatefull kiss.. I still dream about it sometimes. She told me she had a great band she loved that would be in my city, so we decided to meet there at the show. When I first saw her, I could hardly believe my eyes. She was so stunning. And then when she talked.... I did all I could not to let my jaw hang to the floor. So when the show finally ended, I kissed her out on the deck. Then went to McDonalds... when she left I truly did feel my heart break in half. |

Good god, this song has to be one of the best songs live. To me it means he has become more and more like the person he never wanted to be. |

After watching Grand Theft Parsons, with tears streaming down my face the whole time. I found this song, and truly listened to it. I lost a very close person to me like in the movie. It still feels like I have been punched in the stomach whenever I think of him. This song truly is beautiful. |

James was one of my best friends. A guy you could really depend on to always be there. He overdosed. No clue if it was on purpose or accident. But I know he died in his room, alone without me there. The one time in our lives I was susposed to be there and I wasn't, but I have been ever since. I sometimes go visit where he was buried, but all I seem to do is feel the deepest sense of guilt and shame. This song means to me more than anyone I have ever listened to. Yet I cannot listen to more than half of it, without hating myself for not being there. |
