yeah, i could definitely feel that this song is in the past. and yeah, i definitely feel that that's the major theme.
thanks for checking out my theory.
the demons inside was a bit confusing, i was considering it was maybe just the reference to the alcohol. |

I could also relate this to myself very personally. As I was in a new state, far away from home, starting college, and with a drab of depression it was hard to get out and do things in an entirely new world with entirely new people.
The lyrics were a lot like how I felt, very appealing to my introverted efforts. |

I was watching old episodes of Dark Angel. And in an episode, the werewolf that Sam (Jessica Alba) comforts, reveals to her his depressions about the world. he says something along the lines of "I look through my window at the outside world, happy and smiling. But never can I go out into the world, because they are afraid of the unkown." Paraphrased poorly, but the idea is there. Instantly reminded me of this song. |

so, that doesn't mean the cd is his personal story. it's just that the lyrics reflected some of the woes he's had in his life. |

the mother/woman meets the man who left him years before. from the point of view from the children. The woman lived all of the years in seclusion of guilt for what she did to the man, the father, and still runs towards death, and away from life. |

this would be the son/daughter observing the faults of his father who dead. He left his children in the mess that he left behind with his murders, because he says he was alone, and abandoned truely. He suggested the children should have died with him, because he left them in a world of disgust, which was probably his burden. |

The man is still reflecting on his life. He talks about the moments that ruined him, when the woman deceived him. He stayed with her, but decided he could not anymore, and went through the fields, discovering more faults of humanity. He probably also has a child at this point, and could be telling this story to his child. I am not sure when he got a child though. |

going still on my story of the album i believe in...
The king has aged more, and changed from his ways of killing slightly. He still sees faults in humanity because of what the woman did to him years before, but now he sees different things in the peoples eyes, and feels his killing was excessive, and now waits for death. His burden would be his mistakes in killing out of revenge. |

changing a little on what he just posted. He is still resentful of what she did, what he lost. He has been killing for years, aging sinfully and scornfully.
He was fueled by the pride and embellishments of his mother as well, and his father's expectations of him. |

The Heir is still angry about the departure from the woman many years ago, and is still feeding his rage by slaying people in war, for power, and is likely to become king, and does.
He kills everyone because he sees humanity for their flaws, and is dissappointed by humanity. |

A man and woman separate because the woman has lied about something, and the man seeks more in life. He sees her in the fields where a simple home are. She sees him in the fields of battle. |

based on coil, which is based on the separation of a man and a woman because she lied to the man, maybe about cheating.
Then in heir apparent, after going through years of battle killing, the man becomes a king or someone high powered, still missing the woman.
And now, in Lotus Eater, he still misses her. Drinking his sorrows away, confused by what he lost, and wonders what is really true. Vents his anger by ordering the death of more. |

Ugh, you guys don't know black metal at all.
The Amott brothers did a great job in this one, a phenomenal melody.
Angela's sound is good (I agree the lyrics are weak). And Erlandsson is always amazing, one of my fav. drummers. |

the way i see it, its about living life on the edge that you end up dying. learn about dying through experience. and then the afterlife is the same thing, you go balls to the walls and die again. and on and on. going fucking crazy til you die. |

Michael Jackson wasn't one of his musical influences.
He said after recently listening to the lyrics of Billie Jean, he was fascinated by the dark tone and inner meaning in the song, so thats why he covered it. |

"Grab what slips your mind & what your memory won’t hold" great use of words...
I'd say self-sacrifice yes...
But it seems like there's no choice, and the person sacrificing theirself is quite bitter about it.. But still wants some sort of revenge.. |

| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Date with the Night Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Mostly about masturbation to me..
"I got a date with the night" - just a sort of smug, 'yeah i don't have a date with someone but i'm still going to have my fun tonight'
"Burning down my finger" - burning sensations...
"Going to catch the kids dry" - well this sort of sounds like male masturbation, like, going to the balls without there being some sort of excitement before hand..
"Going to walk on water" - well, especially girls just start to feel 'lighter', and so much to say she's gonna wlak on water.
"Buying out the fight" - i guess sort of a boxing metaphor, like, she bought out the fight to make sure who the winner is.. ;)
"We're sweating in the winter" - if it gets so 'exciting' you'll sweat even if 'in the winter' a metaphor for it being cold.
"Both thighs squeezed tight" - yeah that just happens because of how muscles work during this activity.
"choke, choke.." - just how she would get so excited it feels like it's hard to breath as if she's choking.
just a way to interpret it. |

i don't think it really says doing time, if it did it could just mean time as in living life.
sounds a bit to me like he says.: we'll turn (doin) our own?
idk if the person who put up the lyrics got this from the booklet but it still really doesn't sound like it says doin time. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – Someones in the Wolf Lyrics

"so glad you could stay forever" could be from the wolf's perspective or something.
Also note that at one part of the song, it almost seems like theres a chant going "no more people/pieces" as if the wolf is going crazy, because..its.. hungry! :P |
