wow...can any of you read? OR DO WE HAVE TO PUT THE TEXT IN CAPS LOCK? you can go to the band's website and look up the meaning. it has been stated so many times, yet you still continue to post what the song is about, like you know you're right. It's one thing to say, "It makes me think of this situation..." but to say, "This song is about blah blah blah..." sounds arrogant imo, like you know better than the person who wrote the song. |

My interpretation of the song is a sort of mix from the already said views of this song. I think that this song is about a man and a woman who are in a relationship where the man is frequently unfaithful. The opening, "hey, Been trying to meet you." seems like he's saying "Yeah I've been trying to call but.." and it's almost like he's giving excuses for being absent in their relationship. In the next lines, it's as if he's trying to pin his infidelity on other women, like they're the ones to blame. "If you go I will surely die" it seems as though his girlfriend or significant other is getting ready to let go of their relationship, but he's trying to keep things together, whether it because he truely cares for her, or she's a hot piece of ass, whatever. "uh said the man to the lady uh said the lady to the man she adored and the whores like a choir go uh all night" I think what happens here is that the woman gives in, and like most couples. after a fight or something big, make up (i.e. have sex). I would say that the line, "and mary ain't you tired of this" is referring to the woman's battle in her head, wanting to get out of the relationship, tired of the cheating. Truthfully, I haven't put thought to the last lines of lyrics to the song, though, if I had to make a decision right now, without trying to go a bit under the surface I would say the lines indicate how if you have a child and even if the relationship ends, you are still forever "chained" (some might even say 'chained DOWN') to that person. |

| I also agree with all the biblical references in this song, but to answer someone's past question about what all the numbers in the video are: I've thought that they had to do with the seven deadly sins. How? I have no idea. | |

| My guess would be that they are commenting on how society has lost its innocence and how nothing seems to be pure anymore. | |

yeah, I definitely think this song is about the pressure put on them to make their first album, and make it a good one. When I think about the line "we're just a wet dream for the webzines" I decipher that as being just what people want to see, but that doesn't mean that that's what they want to be. Whatever..it's just a thought, I could be completely wrong. |

in response to alovely's question: Not all people who discover MCR on MTV or Fuse are false fans, but a large majority are. See companies/networks like MTV only want bands/musicians while they're hot. They make little, unknown bands huge, and present them as 'passing fads.' The kids who (unknowingly) see the bands/musicians as passing fads will just drop the band in a few years, or as soon as they are "over" them. Those kids can be known as 'false fans' Some people who have listened and supported MCR since their basement days like to call themselves 'true fans.' Why? Because they think they're better because they listened to MCR while they were unknown and unpopular. Kids who like MCR because they are "hot" or who only like the band because they find them attractive are also known as 'false fans.' The bottom line is that a 'false fan' is just a name another fan gives a fellow fan, because they think in one way or another they are better than them. Whether it be the way the dress, they're seniority, whatever. |

I agree with many of the other people about the whole idolization thing.. ..Yes, he is a mormon, no, just because someone is a mormon, it does not mean that they have mulitple wives and Daisuke, I suggest you look into MCR's songs, before bashing them. They do not sing/write lyrics about "how terrible the world is." |

| Built to Spill – Happiness Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I always thought this song was about not worrying about things and waiting for them to happen (a watched pot never boils), but just letting things happen in their own time and about not regretting so many things. But lately I've been feeling more mixed on what it is about...who knows..I am probably completely wrong about this song. | |

| Built to Spill – Carry the Zero Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I also see this song as being about someone being fake, or even spending time with new people, because they want to be the way that the other people are, and forgetting about the true, real people in his/her life. | |
| Sarah McLachlan – Good Enough Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| In the first verse, it seems to me like someone is telling another person about things in their current relationship with their boyfriend, girlfriend, and the chorus and second verse is the person who is being told the story saying "You shouldn't let them treat you like that. Let me show you what real love is." | |

| Fall Out Boy – XO Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
At first, it kind of seems like the person is going back on what he believes in and decides to have some kind of meaningless screw, but then later in the song, it seems like it was a whole relationship, not just one instance. Like he was just kind of like "eh.." in the beginning of the relationship, but eventually fell in love with her, then realized that the love was never really reciprocated. But he was so insistant on the relationship, that he just kept persuing it, even throughs he cheating/not truely caring for him, etc. "Loose Lips Sink Ships"= Traitor/Tell you one thing, do something else. |

| The Shins – Know Your Onion! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| when I was first thinking about the lines "but when they're parking their cars on your chest" I thought that maybe it was about being heartbroken, like your heart being run over; shattered, but now I'm not so sure. I still can't really grasp the meaning of it. | |
| Sheryl Crow – Weather Channel Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
the lyrics are not "There's a black tall man at my door He's been howling my name, he said 'You Better Get Running'" they are : "there's a black dog that scratches my door, he's been growling my name, saying, 'You better get to running" |

| My Chemical Romance – Early Sunsets Over Monroeville Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's funny how you wasted time to type out two messages on seperate occasions, just to say how much you hate a band or how talentless they are. You're probably just one of those people that are fronting and feel they have to hide their My Chemical Romance cd's behind their secret stash of Morrisey records. Get a life, and stop resenting people for the talent they have, and that you lack. You cannot bash a band that you know nothing about. They are not in any way trying to be "cool." They are just trying to put out a message that arrogant assholes like you can't seem to understand. | |
