| Johnny Panic – Burn Your Youth Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Johnny Panic Rule.....Lots. Seen these live like 3 times. They deserve to be sooo big. This is their best song i think, but i would think the first 2 lines of the chorus say it all really. the "I know you know they ain’t got a fucking clue" part of the song is genious too... | |

During the industrial revolution, specifically the transport revolution and the railway boom, workers wer brought into england from ireland and scotland as migrant workers were cheaper than english workers. These workers were called "navvies". They had an extremely poor reputation and were portrayed as drunks, explaining the line "Drank down one penny" and also helps to show the measly wages they were paid. The work they did was very dangerous and lots of them were killed when blasting through rock, hence the end of the second and start of the third verse. Yeah that explains most of the confusing stuff about the song. I think? other than that it's a lovesong, an awesome one at that. and the guy in the song's girl may have died or still be in Ireland...well i think thats pretty much everything :-) sorry for the essay but it was neccessary to explain it all :-) |
