Right. I think this is a bit stupid.
I didn't like blink at one point because I was unhappy with the whole sell out thing, but I listnened to Dude ranch again recently and it bought back some great memories and made me really happy.
Music is not about the people making it its about personal taste. All these people who talk about 'selling out'.....I can't see the point.
Did anyone ever hear blink say they wanted to be punk? maybe all you people who say they were sold out never accepted them because you didnt like them, so who have they sold out? And you are the posers pretending that punk is a big underground thing which it isn't anymore, not for a while. And the bands you listed are widely listened to. You can't have a go at someone for liking the same music as you jsut because you want to pose with your cool bands people haven't heard of and impress them by name dropping. just because a lot of people like a band doesn't make them anything.
and what the fuck has it got to do with you anyway its their lives. you don't want them to be happy because you don't like music. If i was a musician I know Id want to be big. people have their own ambitions and unless you either are them or care about them you shouldn't whine. Its their life and thats what punk was and is punk is a state of mind where you do what you want no matter what it is. |

ZERO pumpkins what does selling out mean? NOTHING its a fucking bullshit term invented by people who want to be different for the sake of it. This song is amazing i was blown away by corgans voice once again. my fav pumpkins songs have to be;

2) Mayonaise
3)Disarm (electric)
4)Cherub Rock
5)Drown
I didnt like the pumkins when they were together. I hadnt heard of them. But now I think Siamese Dream and MCATIS are amazing and the pumpkins in that period are one of my favourite bands of all time |

buffstuff34, I don't give a shit how old or young i am but i think Molko Plus had a few good points so don't try and turn this into a personal argument because the whole point is a discussion of different interpretations that means different views and ideas. personally i dont think the song is from jesus' point of veiw but corgan likening the feelings he is going through to those of jesus' last days. This could be percieved as BLASHPEMOUS. Also I think it is wrong to say the song is completey about jesus and he could just be using the jesus thibg for dramatic effect |

I think he is meeting an old friend/lover who hurt him and even though they hurt him he is getting over it so when they hate him and are ready to say or do something bad towards him or trying to he just shrugs it off and smiles disarming them and they realise they should be over it to (the killer being the pain from the last time being shrugged off) that was my interpretation |

Im sorry to piss on anyones chips but zero isnt close to any other pumpkins song it just doesnt have the same feel kinda like bullet with butterfly wings. personally i think this has gotta be in the top three smashin p's songs chamberlin proves his excellence and diversity as a drummer and corgan does as a writer and guitarist the picking in the verse is amazing but so simple and chamberlins rolls are superb |

maybe it is spelt do re mi like a pun and he is hiding one of the other meanings under the fact that do re mi is an airy and light headed sounding song as in sound of music. and it is like he is singing it without meaning it(the repetitiopn) this is also shown by the sinister shift to minor key in the chorus and notice how the repition of the scale becomes more and more aggressive and the open strings are also played getting louder and louder erupting into the verse. as if he is being forced to say this happy thing but it slowly makes him angry. |
