pretty obvious what he means when he says "you quote the good book when its convenient, but you don't have the sense to tie your tangled tongue". he means that the lady here has strong religious beliefs which she has used to justify her actions taken in the relationship. when so often these beliefs being used to base their life on, does not make the person a respectable or a mature one. saying also that she is babbling on making excuses for her behaviour based on what the good book says, not learning about emotional maturity etc. forgive me for sounding bitter, and i don't mean to knock people who believe in God, but i can relate to this song very well, just came out of a relationship with a girl who was much the same as what he's singing about. |
