Okay, a lot of you guys have the wrong idea (in my opionion). This song is about fisting. Yes, anal fisting. Its also deeper than that. Its about how sex doesnt satisfy so he has to keep getting into harder and harder stuff. Starts with finger deep, up to shoulder deep, and you can see it still isnt satisfying him because he says "ill keep digging til i find something" (he means satisfaction).
So basically hes looking to satisfy himself with harder and harder sex (namely fisting), but never can. This is also why people are getting confused with drug addiction etc - a lot of things in life are exactly the same - you keep needing more but it never satisfies. |

I think its just about struggles when trying to get closer to God. He keeps giving reasons why not to (or excuses, as proto says). But he knows deep down "i wanna go deeper", and "we're goin all the way". Great chilled out song as well. |

The lyrics are very complex in this, but i think its about trying to forget something bad thats happened. Maybe the loss of a loved one. Probably only half of it though... Anyone else got views on it?

I think its probably just about winter. The band are from the netherlands, and in the winter there you only get a few hours of light each day. Last verse talks about "midwinternight inside" as in, the very darkest of their dark nights. And people are known to get depressed in the winter there because it just dark all day - probably when the song was written. |

Kworb, i think your right, but not the best way out - i think they reckon its the only way out. A deadlock is when you cant win - like not winning in life? So life isnt worth living if you cant win, so the only thing they can do is commit suicide.
And pinkfloyd, i always thought they said "the world around your neck", but i think your right, its "the rope". |
