I love that the album starts off with this song, more specifically because of the first lines: "I will break into your thoughts with what's written on my heart." Perfect. It's like she's saying, "I'll shatter your mind, what you think you know, with my truth, my words, my life or my lies." Whatever is in her heart, engraved into the very deep of her, she's going to either sing it beautifully or scream it out loud until they know at as well as she does. "If you want more of this We can push out, sell out, die out" If you want it, I'll give it to you to the point that I'm pushing, I'm selling myself unto the death of me. "So you'll shut up And stay sleeping With my screaming in your itching ears" Ha ha, so you'll keep your mouth closed, just stay in la la land and I'll be yelling and screaming in your ears, but it's not getting through to you as more than a buzz causing your ears to itch. "Hear it I'm screaming it You're heeding to it now Hear it! I'm screaming it! You tremble at this sound" Listen to me because I'm screaming it at you, for you, to you, and now you're finally paying attention to what I've been telling you and now you're scared and you're sorry, but it's too late. "You sink into my clothes And this invasion Makes me feel Worthless, hopeless, sick" You are a parasite, sinking into my clothes, passing my first layer of protection. You're trespassing and you're making me feel like shit, your actions are causing me misery. |

"Some days it seems its not worth it The fight in me is all gone And I'm not trying to be perfect But just get one damn thing done" Pretty self explanetory, some days, it seems that life sucks and nothing goes right, he's tired of it and he wants to give up because he doesn't have the strength or maybe the will to keep working and pushing for what he wants. He's not striving or even attempting to strive for perfection, merely trying take things slowly as they come to him, one at a time. "Before I lose control I pick myself off the floor" He's hit rock bottom and he's about to take the final step (suicide?) but instead decides to keep on keeping on. It's all a person can do sometimes, you can't always let yourself feel horrible and down even though sometimes you just to feel sorry for yourself and wallow in your pain and hurt. It's probably fine to a certain extent, you're sad or angry and then you need to get over it. "Never come a day that I solve you Consequently I could never leave you" Perhaps he's saying to her 'You know what, I don't understand who you are, I don't think I'll ever figure you out, but I don't give a fuck, I still love you and need you and cannot be without you in my life.' "In the shadow of those looming battleships I love our canoe" And here maybe it's that there are all these huge things happening around them, all these problems and other shit going on in the world, and he's thankful that she keeps him grounded and is there for him, she keeps him in this comfortable space that is only theirs. "Im ready for the falls And those still waters we will find are truth" I feel this part represents like he'll find their truth there, as in he'll learn whether or not they can hack it as a couple. After the shit hits the fan and the 'waters' smooth over, what will be left of what they once had, will their love be stronger than ever, or will all the problems they encountered have weakened their relationship to the point where they feel maybe they're better off apart? "Oh there's a clock in my head And despite what it says Another one on the wall They dont agree at all" The clock in his head is maybe saying he should get married? But the 'one on the wall' (hers I'm assuming) is like "Hell no!, therefor not agreeing with his time schedule.' "And theres a schism in me And despite what you see You might see me as calm But I go off like a bomb" Here it seems to me that he's trying to be cool with her, but he can't take much more of the way she is to him at times. "Oh in the comfort of strangers You dont see the danger Of just letting it flow This I know" And here it's like maybe she's trying to turn to someone else because she's not ready to commit to him and to the relationship, she can't let it be just yet even though she knows thst she loves hima nd is absolutely crazy about him and would do just about anything for him. -It's a cool song, it piqued my interest enough for me to go out and by the album which is very good, my favorite track on there is probably WHISKEY AND WINE it's such a great song, the lyrics are decent, I can relate to them, the vocals are intrguing where they're singing on top of each other's voices. Also there are quite a few different types of music styles on the album which I feel is a plus since I like most musical styles and certainly what's on that album, I like. I dunno, I'm just talking out my ass. |

To me this song represents a persons struggle with themselves, for the fact that Jesus died for them and yet they keep messing up. In the first line it's stated "Concentrating on my knees cuz they're no help to me" I take it to mean that he's just sitting somewhere staring at his knees, wondering why he doesn't kneel down to pray more often or perhaps even at all. "I find myself with simple questions and simple needs" He feels he's not asking for much in his requests to God. Maybe a girl to love, a succesful musical career and who knows what else is in this guys heart and on his mind. And then it turns around to say "Bleeding forces gather me". 'Bleeding forces' could be taken to mean Jesus, so he might be saying Jesus gathers him, undoes his weakness, therefor making him a stronger person. If that's the case I wonder whether he meant a strong person on earth (a strength seen as worthy by worldly people) or in heaven (a strength seen as worthy by God). Then "undo my weakness and appease my sadness and guilt of what was done for me" Easily identifiable (to me anyway) as his sadness and guilt for Jesus having been put to death on the cross for his (and ours as well) sins. Also could be he senses God's forgiveness of his sins and so he is appeased of in his transgressions where he knows he has seriously fucked up. "I'll know what you are the light in the dark" Jesus is the light of the world, a very dark sick world. "and I'll see what you are Forgive me" He'll see Jesus as his Savior and ask God for forgiveness. "and I'll take what you are over again" I think this signifies each time he's messed up and then turned back to God and has been like "I did it again, I'm sorry, please forgive me and I'll stick close to you this time, just plese help me out of this problem" or whatever the case may be. "and I'll need nothing more Take me" He knows if he acceptes God totally and completely, he will need nothing more in his life. Asking God to take his heart and soul entirely so that he may net want or feel needy for something. "Many voices speak many times I am weak" The voices in my head! Yeah, that's it, the devil made me do it. No, really all the bad thoughts that start off as just a whisper and grow into something uncontrollable are the reason why we do stupid shit. We start dwelling on something we have no need to be thinking about and it festers and before we know it, out hearts and souls are wekened by the thoughts coming from our very minds. At least I know this happens to me. "many things escape it's a part of me" I don't know about this line, perhaps he means bad acts that he's done? I truly don't have much of an idea where the writer was going with this line. "Many chances that I take to kill you again" Each time he does something wrong, it's like he's crucifying Jesus over again. "It should have been me and everyone" It should have been us up on the cross. We're the ones that sin every single day. "Why don't you Take me" Asking for God to kill him maybe? Take him to heaven so he can leave this messed up place behind? It's a pretty good album you should go out and get it, if it's the type of music you listen to. I hope to see these guys in May, they're touring with Hinder and Theory Of A Deadman (who is a bad ass band, I've seen these guys and got to meet them, they're really nice people) Faktion...check out their myspace page. |

Lacey's vocals absolutely fucking rock. The band is great too, I saw them some time ago and they're really good performers. Lacey's and Avril's voices are a bit reminiscent of each other's because they have a lot of the same qualities except Avril probably can't scream the magnificent way that Lacey does. I took the song to mean: I'm sick of being here...in this place where I am. Not really a metaphor or anything like that. |

| I love this song. Snow Patrol is a great band, I saw them a few months ago. The guys have the cutest Irish accents, and the vocalist said "We may not raock the hardset, but just know, we love you the most" it was awesome. | |
