I can't stand Coldplay, but this is pure class. Where did it all go wrong?
I reckon Chris Martin's a classic case of an artist who in the early part of his career is expressing emotions we can all relate to. The problem is when you have such success and start living your life with Hollywood's elite in Hampstead and the like, who the f**k is going to relate to you then? To me his recent lyrics seem empty and spiritually bankrupt because he's trying to appeal to a mainstream audience of which he is no longer a member. Consequently, all we get now over-produced turgid nonsense. And what the hell is the s**t on his hands all about? Tosser. |
