This song is lovely!! I agree with JakeUtd, it played during an extrememly emotional part of the film 127 Hours and in my opinion this song should have won the Oscar for "Best Original Song". Everytime I listen to this my heart breaks. I think it is about being given another chance in life and how it is important to not take life for granted, and that there is more to life that maybe wasn't recognized before. |

I think this song is about trying to make a relationship work, that is probably incompatible. Both people are hoping it'll get better but they see that the relationship won't survive. I think she is falling out of love: she is waiting to make somebody somebody. Maybe she is acknowledging that she hasn't found the right somebody, although she is hoping that maybe she just hasn't arrived at that love yet (she isn't there yet) As much as they want it to work, it won't. :( |

This song is heartbreaking and breath-taking. To me it means that she has lost someone important and also feels lost without them, as if being their other half was part of her identity; nothing in her life is the same. She recognized that she didn't let them in, which is what she would change if she were given another chance (taking the chain from off the door). |

This song makes my heart feel heavy. The way this song is sang a capella (without music) is very very effective! Hide and Seek is a song that is hard to understand the first few times you hear it, but each time I listen, I manage to feel what the artist feels and everytime I listen to it, I appreciate its unique beauty. It was very well placed in the season finale of the OC. This song was also part of the reason why I cried (hysterically i might add) in the last episode beause like I said above, my heart felt heavy and I felt what the characters felt.
