OK....i know i could totally get ripped apart with this....but i see a lot of religious connections in here. In the first verse, "stepping into the light"is symbolizing heaven. and he goes into it with open arms and is like looking arond wildy to take it all in and stuff. It also flows more wiht the next line, "on top of the world with your legs hanging free". When i look at the part of the song with the water, i think of it as a metaphor to baptism, a cleansing of sin, or in this songs case, worries. The fact that it goes from his toes to his ankles to his head-completely submerged-to his SOUL... And the chorus might be someone looking back at their life after theyve just had this experience that made them realize to live in the moment. I dunno, i may be way off i know |

| so im takin this philosophy class-good stuff- and we're talking about the human condition and how all men want to acheive happiness. One little thing we talked about was that if you take away all of our distractions in life we would all be ultimately bored out of our minds. I immediately thought back to this song and the "you're wasted from the boredom" line. just thought it was an interesting point to add. | |
