With breath that reeks, no less. Nice work.

I'm 14, and I can see what these songs mean.

By the way, the explicit lyrics sticker wasn't even on the CD. What are you talking about?

Tool – Lipan Conjuring Lyrics 19 years ago
I have to hand it to you guys, especially Snowman....you people have a long enough attention span (longer than mine, perhaps) to connect all three of these songs together.

Psssh, it just got me thinking that the guys in this song are conjuring up an alien to attack the guy on "Lost Keys" and "Rosetta Stoned". Haha. I know that's definitely not the case....it would be funny to see nevertheless.

Crap, never mind. That was mentioned on the first page.

Christ....(slaps forehead)

I mean SPAWNING. Blecch.

Tool – Intension Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, it does seem to be the spawing of crazy ideas that are caused by will itself.

Great song, I have a feeling this is the most underrated song on this album. I don't know why.

Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics 19 years ago
Heh. If you're trying to make him pissed or something, I don't think it's working. Just leave him alone, all these damn "Ahhh, that goddamn Trexor is such a prick!" comments filling up the pages are getting very irritating.

Tool – Eon Blue Apocalypse Lyrics 19 years ago
I heard on Wikipedia that this was dedicated to Adam Jones's dog, Eon Blue, who passed away from cancer.

I have yet to hear this song, though.

I agree, I love how it just flows into this.

One more thing and sorry if I seem like a retard: What the hell does he mean by 'fetal spooning'? What does it mean? Do I want to know?

Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics 19 years ago
Holy shit, I thought I'd be the first one to admit that. Haha. The "give me my wings" part just got to me, eventually.

Tool – Wings for Marie (Pt. 1) Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, Opiate was like 1991 / 1992 (forgot when, exactly), Undertow, 1993, Ænima, 1996, Lateralus, 2001, so....ahh, dammit.

I love this song, by the way. Even more eerie is this is almost a perfect song for my dad, because his mother died two years ago, and her name was Marie...

"Might have told a lie, but never lived one."

Beautiful...

Tool – Right in Two Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, this sounds like the angels watching the humans using violence to solve everything; ownership, love, and overall just fighting over stupid shit, and the angels seem to be wondering; "Why did God make these humans so stupid?"

Heh, ironic how I agree with them, even though I don't even believe in the angels and whatnot anymore....

Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics 19 years ago
Heh, this song kicks ass. I love the line:
"They chose me, and I didn't even graduate from fucking high school."

Yeah, it does seem to be a drug experience, obviously. I notice how, in "Lost Keys", the doctor asks him to tell him everything, and it ties into this song, which begins with "Alrighty then, picture this if you will..." It's almost like the character in both of these songs is too petrified to say anything.

Oh, never mind, it's a minute long.

Still sounds cool though.

Tool – Lipan Conjuring Lyrics 19 years ago
This is only 29 seconds, right? Because I listened to the sample of this and that's how long it was.

If this is the song in entirety, let me say this must be one of the most kick-ass (and creepiest) interludes ever.

I'm so going to get this album.

Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, there is. I think he says something like "I fought for you" at one point, but eh. I can't figure it out.

Great song though, excellent stress reliever. It still sends shivers up my spine the last time he screams "AND YOU BOUGHT OONNNNE!" with the guitar and stuff. It's just so powerful.

But yeah, this is about the music business and stuff....like everyone said. Pretty much says: "You claimed to be a fan of mine, now you're saying I'm selling out?" The huge irony would be if the character depicted in this song still goes to some music store and buys the new Tool CD or something....

Melvins – Lizzy Lyrics 19 years ago
Heh, I've realized that it's useless to argue over the lyrics of the Melvins....God knows how Buzz and Dale write this stuff, but it's mostly unintelligible, the biggest exception being "Air Breather...."

And I apologize for sounding like an ass before, haha. I guess I just got pissed over the amount of times I heard that "Elvis has honor" line....even though it's clearly not right.

Alice in Chains – Sickman Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it might be an altered Bible quote or something. Never remembered all those Psalms, not like I care anyway.

Yeah, this is pretty obvious yet so moving; he worries about his drug addiction, then realizes death will get him either way, so he doesn't care anymore.

Fricking sad that it turned out that way...

This has to be one of the best songs of all time: this is almost an opera of some sort.

Nirvana – Oh, the Guilt Lyrics 19 years ago
From the looks of it, Go Hash Browns seems to be the most correct.

You know, "she takes a week to get over it".

Then she tries to ignore the pain she's been inflicted by fooling herself that she has all of it. Great song right here....

Nirvana – I Hate Myself and Want to Die Lyrics 19 years ago
Sean, we're not really arguing....we're just sharing or views on the meaning and nothing more. And he did release the meanings of at least some of the songs, like in interviews and all that stuff.

Heh, I just realized something....he probably titled this song "I Hate Myself And Want To Die" just so it would make everyone go "Oh holy shit, this guy's crazy" and neglect the actual meaning in the song. Here the main basis seems to revolve around drugs, like many people, like the person above me and myself, has said.

Tool – Useful Idiot Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, it pretty much is. I'm not saying Maynard makes senseless songs constantly, but Christ, it's not like he doesn't have a sense of humor either.

This song is dangerously hypnotic. What a great bassline.

"Im wearing a kasmire thong right now. By the way Melvana you need to pull the needle out of your arm and nobody likes your opinion not even you own mother."

Was that supposed to insult me? Because it just made me laugh at you.

Yeah, I know, a year later and I reply. Whatever.

I need to listen to this song more nowadays.

Melvins – Air Breather Deep In The Arms Of Morphius Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah but there are SO many lyrics missing. The chorus, I guess, is about life and death: first we appear, then we go to sleep. Pretty straightforward for the Melvins, actually...

Nirvana – I Hate Myself and Want to Die Lyrics 20 years ago
It might be his experience during detox. I don't know. When I read these lyrics, I always get this sketchy image of him sick in a hospital bed begging for as much medicine as possible to get him away from his pain.

"One more quirky cliched phrase", I just realized, might be how he replied "I hate myself and want to die!" to people so much he felt the phrase itself was a cliche.

Tool – Sober Lyrics 20 years ago
To me it sounds like society treats Maynard badly just because he takes drugs. They think that he's just an dishonest idiot that will only stab you in the back, and he's wishing he could have never taken narcotics just so his reputation wasn't destroyed in the first place. I'm not 100% certain about my interpretation here, but I'm guessing I'm close.

Alice in Chains – So Close Lyrics 20 years ago
It sounds mostly like the downsides and frusturation of fame, which is pretty much hinted at in the "big big monaaay!" intro. "Why are we here again?" seems to imply that he's asking why they came famous in the first place. The lines in which he said "I nearly snapped my twig" is obviously saying he almost went insane, and saying he almost 'snapped a few of you' probably means that he was very close to lashing out on his own bandmates. What he's probably saying by being "so close" to is being very close to either leaving the band or leaving the record label. Just my interpetation.

Nirvana – Don't Want It All Lyrics 20 years ago
Well, you wouldn't expect a bunch of background noises in Kurt's songs, that's what I meant. The song itself is a typical song for him to make, yes, but he didn't put in weird noises often.

Melvins – Lizzy Lyrics 20 years ago
Okay...I wasn't listening to the song when I typed that but now I am, and I found even MORE wrong lyrics. Nice job.

'As far as is well known' is'As far as is well knows'
'Muzzled in a big fat one' is 'Other than a big sun'
'White with a pretty hand' is 'Why another pretty land?'
'Elvis has honor' is 'Elvis had a daughter'
'I'm not sweetly, give me one' is 'I'm no sweet and give me one'
'Calling me a man' is 'Calling m-m-me a maid'
'Lonely and a bit of fun' is 'I only have to free some'
'Happens with the palm trees' is 'Have a twisted ????'
'Rig it with the closeness' is 'Rig it with the close pound'

That's like 9 lyrics you messed up. Try listening to the song next time.

Melvins – Lizzy Lyrics 20 years ago
Okay, for the last time, it is NOT 'Elvis has honor', it's 'Elvis had a daughter'. God, this interpetation's been rehashed so many times I can't take it anymore. Okay, here we go.

'Muzzled in a big coal'
'Heaven better give one'
'I'm not sweet, and give me one'
'Calling m-m-me me a man'

Melvins – Pearl Bomb Lyrics 20 years ago
The bass line is great, but this is still easily the Melvins's worst song ever. That drumming just drives me absolutely crazy. Even in the bridge it doesn't change.

Nirvana – Pen Cap Chew Lyrics 20 years ago
There is a longer version of this, played on KAOS radio in 1987. I downloaded it and it's 4 minutes long with Aaron Burckhard doing drums.

I'm guessing this song is about politics. Heavy song, too. I wonder how Dave would have done on this song, he would have beat the living crap out of his drums playing this.

Isn't the meaning for this song the same as Swap Meet also? They're both about selling stuff and getting money for it.

Nirvana – Don't Want It All Lyrics 20 years ago
Well, I would assume that "Misery Love Company" is the correct title for the song, because the title is more fitting.

And this song probably isn't what you expect out of Kurt Cobain. Really cool and dark.

Nirvana – Aerozeppelin Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah, this pretty much sums up the mainstream crap we have today and compares it to old music that was much better. Great fricking song.
