Stereophonics is just such an awesome band and this song is sooooo amazing! I remember hearing Dakota for the first time.... I just felt so uplifted and touched. Its truly a masterpiece... a real feelgood song thats a tearjerker at the same time. *sigh* |

I just luv this song, I could listen to it a million times and never get sick of it! I reckon its a song about a guy who broke his girlfriends heart because he kept on cheating on her. But he only realised that he was doing this when he read it in her diary("fumbling through your dresser drawer"). He loves her but he realises that she doesnt deserve a guy like him and he doesnt want to hurt her anymore. Maroon 5 is just such an awesome band... luv this song!!! |

I thought it was more like this: The guy was kinda shy and was just starting to socialise a bit more when he kissed the girl. But she obviously didnt feel as strongly as he did about the kiss... ie he fell in love with her but she just saw it as simply a kiss. Now he's on the sideline pretending to be "Mr Brightside" as if the kiss meant nothing to him even though he still loves her. So he feels really jealous and torn within himself when he sees her with other men. Well whatever this song means, its a damn good song that I could listen to a million times and NEVER get sick of! |
