Wish you were here is alllll about syd, from the cover to the songs. I am pretty sure this is about how he was when they forced him out of PF. In all the interviews I've seen they would say syd would just stare off into space for hours at a time like a robot.

its about his girlfriend sending him a letter breaking up with him and how he hates it.
Its not about god, selling out (you dumb fucks) or any other little invention your little emo brains can come up with. Why not try listening to the song before saying they sold out for no reason. |

I've been to three trio shows that they played this song. everytime matt plays it, hes said its about telling someone you love them so much, and them still rejecting you.
could it be about drugs? of course, it just depends on your perspective. Matts said several times hes only done pot, but only he knows for sure. |

derek told me that the song was just a bunch of lyrics he came up with and they didnt fit into any other song so they just threw it into one song. And skiba wrote the last few lines which is why they are a little different. But, many of the lyrics do tell a story of the band, from their atheistic ideas to matts ideas on how he wants to die. |

well, I met matt skiba on saturday (june 18th) and I asked him about this song, and he said "well, I was watching the movie seven one night and I just wrote the song. Its just about a stalker and nothing else" so, there you go =) |
