| Queens of the Stone Age – This Lullaby Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This sounds like something of Lenard Cohen's | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – You Would Know Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this sort of reminds me of the stooge's i wanna be your dog. | |
| Nirvana – Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through the Strip Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Do you know if the guys from Nirvana liked Alice In Chains? | |
| Bush – Swallowed Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I was wondering, do you guys listen to Nirvana? | |
| Bush – Little Things Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Am I the only one who notices the Smells Like Teen Spirit connection here?? first off, the drumming is EXACTLY the same and gavin even said that Smells Like Teen Spirit was the blueprint for this song. now that I look at the lyrics I can see that they used several same words too. too bad that Nirvana did it better. This is an ok song, though. i like the lyrics. |

| Foo Fighters – Friend Of A Friend Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| One of the best songs on the new album. When I told my friend I thought this was about Kurt and Krist he laughed like there was no tomorrow. But then he actually took a minute to listen to the lyrics and was like 'You know, I think you're right!' | |
| Metallica – Astronomy (Blue Öyster Cult cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is exactly why I like Metallica: James can actually sing too!! | |
| Metallica – Stone Cold Crazy (Queen cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is so much better than the original one! Don't get me wrong, tho, I love Queen. But I don't understan how someone could call Metallica a hasbeen- | |
| Nirvana – Scoff Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To me it's like what ever you do ppl wont take you seriously and don have any faith in you. Then you seek refuge in alcohol. Don't know about the kill a million, heal a million. |
|
| Nirvana – Seasons in the Sun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's 'With my pb gun I will kill birds' | |
| Nirvana – Serve the Servants Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
In one interview Kurt said that even if there's one line in a song that he wrote about his own life, it doesn't mean that the whole song is about him. I think that the whole 'Teenage angst has paied off well/Now I'm bored and old' refers to how he was really sick of nevermind and especially smells like teen spirit (a song about teenage angst). The old could be saing that he's no teenager anymore so he can't sing about it and ans wants t do his own thing. I dunno. |

| Nirvana – Something in the Way Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This one time I hung out with my friends and this came on and then we started discussing what this song meant to them and everyone had SUCH differing answers, that's why this song always amazes me. plus the cello. and Kurt's voice. One way to look at the lines 'Underneath a bridge/ The tarp has sprung a leak' is that you go somewhere to hide away where noone can find you, this would be the bridge. The tarp in this case could be your family. Tarp is supposed to be strong and not break easily but in this case it's broken so this would mean that your family has disappointed you in someway and you can't lean on them anymre so you jsut want to get away and be on your own. |

| Nirvana – The Other Improv Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love it how someone can just improvise liek this and make up this lyrics on the spot. The best part is definitely 'My milk is your shit'. | |
| Nirvana – Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Lead Belly cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i hate it when my friends don't appreciate music like this! argh. I prefer the unplugged version over the one on the box set. and anni, please stop quoting heavier than heaven. if krist and dave didn't approve of it then that ought to say something. read come as you are instead. |
|
| Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Oh I forgot to say that the intro is truely brilliant. It sounds like it's been planned out carefuly but at the same time it just sounds so effortless. Also, about Heavier Than Heaven, Krist and Dave said they don't like how events and they are portrayed in the book. |

| Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song reminds me of both the most depressing times in my life and the happiest. I was once really upset over something and depressed then I heard this and everything just made perfect sense. It was like: Gee, I don't have to even try please you if you won't appreciate it. I just love this song so much. And the bass lines are so deep in a way. Plus then Kurt's emotional singing. I can't explain As to what Kurt meant when he wrote this, we'll never know. I do, however, think that he's talking about wanting to divorce Courtney (which has been well documented). I don't think it's the least bit suicidal and if you take into account the events prior to his death and the whole Rome incident then just remember thatthat what you read in Heavier Than Heaven isn't too coherent with the facts, mostly seeing how the author was a friend of Courntey's. I'm just trying to say that don't start quoting the book if you don't keep this in the back of your mind. It's a shame this web page has come to this. If you don't want to discus the meanings of these songs then go to e.g. www.indefenceofkurtcobain.com and read about the events and go to some other forum where the title of the topic is 'How did Kurt Cobain die?'. |

| Nirvana – Talk to Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I keep hearing the lyrics a bit differently. I don't really know what I hear but instead of ''Shake it down easy, shake it down sleazy, come on'' I hear ''Shake it down easy, shake it from ( then something), come on''. And then not ''Don't you lie knowing'', but ''Don't you die knowing''. It's such a great song! Always gets me in this really energetic mood. |
|
| Nirvana – Tourette's Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love this song!! ESpecially the one on From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah (The Eagle Has Landed). That version has even more energy and rage. | |
| Frieden – Suicide Letter Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think the 'Jesus don't want me for a sunbeam' is a bit too explicit a refrence (or a rip off) to Nirvana or the Vaselines. | |
| Nirvana – D-7 (Wipers cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I don't know what Greg Sage meant when he wrote the song but to me personally it's like listening about my relationship with my brother and the rest of my family. ''Straight as an arrow defect defect not straight, not so straight reject reject towards anti-social solo solo'' The first verse being about how my brother is 'straight' as in perfect and I'm not, me being the defect, reject and so going towards anti-social because everyone would rather hang out with him than me. ''standing on the stairs cold, cold morning Ghostly... image of fear mayday, mayday'' In the 2nd stanza it's like me standing on the stairs after a night of my refuge thinking I don't want to go back home where I'm only the underdog. ''gonna leave this reigon they'll take me with them Dimension 7'' I want to leave becuase I'm not happy and the other people who actually like me are willing to take me with them. Demention 7 would mean to me that another palce, or death if demention 7 means death, would be better than staying where I am now. Ok I wrote this really quick and all and might have over dramatized the story a little but hey, it only makes it more interesting.. or something... hmm.. |

| Frieden – Creep Tonight Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I actually like the verses better: I have no gun, now that I need one I have no gun, not that I need one I have no gun, who knows if I need one ...it just sounds so simple and effortless. And exactly how I feel sometimes. Great! |
|
| Frieden – Non-Sense Grunge Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The blame to blame part sort of reminds me of pay to play. The best part is 'Cobain, say hi 'layne'. | |
| Weird Al Yankovic – Smells Like Nirvana Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The best way to pay homage to a great band, in this case my all time favorite Nirvana, is by parodizing one of their songs. It so much more better than just singin the song exactly like the orignal versionwhich the case usually is with all these MTV Icon thngys. But anywho, so funny!! Laughed my ass off the first time i heard it (which is forever ago) and still do. Some of his other songs are pure comic genius as well. |
|
| Die Ärzte – Zu Spät Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I was so disappointed when i came here because I noticed no one had posted Monsterparty which is the reason why I fell in love with the band in the first place! | |
| Die Ärzte – Schrei Nach Liebe Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| A beautiful, beautiful song!!!!! | |
| Pixies – Tame Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yea I see what you guys mean with the rape thing. Especially in the secpnd verse, how the raper assualts her body and she falls down and can't really move etc... But I always thought that it's also about how some people, in this case girls, think that beauty goes the whole way. When in fact the shallow people are just lame and have nothing real and interesting to say. |
|
| Pixies – Hey Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| My favorite Pixies song- | |
| Meat Puppets – Why? Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think there are one or two wrong lyrics here but I'm not sure since I can't listen to the song at the moment. But anywho. I love the beginning because the lyrics say 'Why must I move so slow' but the pace is faster. It always puts me in a good mood. |
|
| Meat Puppets – She's Hot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| To me it seems like most of the bands I like have written songs with the same message. But hey, it's a good one. | |
| Meat Puppets – Backwater Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sorry, I meant 'through the ceiling'. | |
| Meat Puppets – Backwater Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yup, a great band indeed. But I actualy think the lyrics in the 3rd last stanza are a bit off. I think they go 'There's a blood thats flowing in the ceiling'. | |
