seedplanter got it exactly right. Especially about the connection of 'at my word would you bring your Isaac?' with Abraham and God's promise in Genesis. Basically, I think this song is about trust. About how because we love God we need to trust him with everything in our lives. We need to learn from Abraham, God is always faithfull so obey and sacrifice everything for him when you need to. As Cities Burn are so amazing.. I have never come across a band who writes such beautiful lyrics and has a sound so unique and just frickin awesome! Hell yes, I'm sure it will rock. |

| How has no one commented on this beautiful song?? This is really emotional and I guess Sandra uses rain metaphorically to symbolise the touch of a person she loves. Also .. Kiss The Dawn and Pretty In Scarlett aren't on here yet!! They are amazing songs as well. You've gotta try them out if you like this song.. | |

Even though this is a good song like everyone says, Guano Apes have far better songs than this one. They are AMAZINGLY good.. 'walking on a thin line' is their best album. And tabaloria's idea of the meaning sounds believable, since, if taken the literal way this song has really silly lyrics. |
