| The Cranberries – Dreaming My Dreams Lyrics

dolores wrote this song at christmas time for her husband don, so it's pretty safe to say that it's about how much she loves him, and how all the dreams she might have had about her future husband have come true, and now she is living them out with him. it's her way of saying that she's happy with him. however, it can be perceived as a sad song, more because of the melody than of the lyrics because the melody is quite melancholic. but the lyrics can be interpreted as sad as well (even though i know they're not, i still do - due to the memories the song holds for me) if you think about it, the lines "it's out there, if you want me, i'll be there" could be someone saying that even though this other person doesn't want them right now, they'll still be there if they ever change their mind. also "i'll be dreaming my dreams with you" seems to imply that that's all they'll be doing with them - they won't be living with eachother, the only way they can be together is in this person's dreams. because of this you could easily think, or feel that the song is about losing someone, but not feeling bad feelings for them, more wishing them on their way or letting them know that you accept it and that you'll always be there. that's certainly what i think, and i think it's a beautiful song. a beautiful album really. |

i adore this song. it's the melody, it's andrew's voice, but most of all it's the words, and the way all three parts come together. i think the song generally applies to any form of separation from someone you care about, but is fairly open to interpretation. most people see it as the "long distance relationship" separation, but i see it (the same as someone else who commented) to be about one half of a relationship wanting to travel, and the other person not understanding why that is more important than being with them. it makes a lot of sense to me, because my boyfriend and i have similar issues.. it's difficult to explain the way it makes me feel, it just means an awful lot.. |

| Finch – Three Simple Words Lyrics

it's like he had built himself up to saying those three simple words (which most people know, are in fact never simple) only to have his feelings thrown back in his face when the girl either doesn't say it back, or does something to show that she didn't mean it. no wonder he feels angry- "with my hands around your throat.." and desparing- "everything is dead" and even confused- "did i see forever in you?". he almost sounds like he's going crazy towards the end with the "who will stop me now", but who doesn't feel a little crazy when someone hurts you like that? it's one of those songs which really manage to showcase how much it sucks when you feel more for someone than they do for you. |

| Finch – Revelation Song Lyrics

i always feel like there is a certain amount of desperation in this song.. like nate is in one of those negative moods where it feels like everything you work for seems so shortlived and pointless in the end.. and you know you need to do something to change that, but it's the knowing how, which is the problem.
i love it when nate screams the last part of
"through the trees i scream your name", but then again, i love it whenever nate screams.. |
