deadman, you're right. I used to think my ex-boyfriend was an idiot, because he always hated MCR. I suggested he listen to the lyrics. Thick headed fool, doesn't know what he's missing out on. I think Coheed and Cambria have awesome lyrics, as well as MCR, lol.
Punk is such a skewed word nowadays. |

Everyone has their own opinion. Who's to determine what's right and what's wrong? I especislly like deadman's comments. I respect them, even though I love MCR. Gay men are cool. They're awesome people to be around. Personality makes a person, not lifestyle choice. That's what I believe, especially going to Lubbock High.

I wouldn't consider myself punk or gothic either, but I do wear black, so many ppl mistake me for it. I am a teenagwe girl, and I just think it's great that anyone can be happy, whether it's 2 guys, 2 girls, or whatever. MCR is very mainstream, I agree, but they didn't succumb to this "recipe" major labels have set out for bands. You knw, the "hard/ heavy tune" then the "ballad tune" They just released what was good. Sad to say, Papa Roach did it, Nickelback does it. As long as they're true to themselves, I'll always be a loyal fan. I'm glad you're not a "conformist". More ppl should be openminded. The world might run a little smoother. I'm sorry for accusing you of being that way. I know alot of them too. Being in ROTC, and a liberal, I just stick with,"I'm infiltrating!" Age:16. |

I think you've got it all wrong. Punk is an outrage against The System, like the Sex Pistols, or the Clah. Punk is dead because the genre is so skewed now. We have nothing to fight against anymore, because most "punks" don't care, or don't care about what's really important, like saving CBGB's. In times of disaster, such as now, I hate to speak out against Bush, but he's what we should be fighting and screaming about. I mean, all it is is oil oil oil. Daddy didn't get to finish his war, so I'll ruin America by doing it for him. Bands like NOFX and Bad Religion are the last of a dying breed. As much as I absolutely love My Chemical Romance, they're not punk, but, heaven forbid, they're not pop.
And hell yeah, two men rock! Too bad Bert and Gerard aren't talking. You need to break out of the conformist ways America thinks we should live. |
