King Crimson – Heartbeat Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so obviously about sex (romantic sex, not sex based on desire)

At least I think so.

Modest Mouse – Broke Lyrics 19 years ago
I personally think it's about how Isaac is "broken" (i.e. not perfect)

In that regard, everybody should be able to relate to this song, which is what makes it so good for me.

Porcupine Tree – Strip The Soul Lyrics 19 years ago
Actually, Porcupine Tree never said anything about the album being about a serial killer. For all we know, it could be just a bunch of really awesome songs. But this song does happen to be about a family of serial killers who lure strangers into their home, kill them, and bury them behind the walls of the house.

The Who – Baba O'Riley Lyrics 19 years ago
The song is about the wasted youth of the time, wasting their time and energy on getting stoned.

The piano riff in the beginning is crazy.

King Crimson – Neal And Jack And Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I personally agree with drds63 in that I think it's about the life of a travelling rock star. There are references to several aspects of the travelling life, such as new culture (strange spaghetti), the local night life (Past wild-haired teens in dark clothing
With hands-full of autographed napkins we
eat apples in vans with sandwiches), living in hotels (Hurry up and wait for all the odd-shaped keys
Which lead to new soap and envelopes), and finally homesickness (the last 7 lines)

Blackfield – Hello Lyrics 19 years ago
I firmly believe that this song is about love that has been lost, being in pain from losing it, but never truly letting go.

The opening verse shows that they used to have somebody by their side, but are now on their own.

In the chorus, there are signs of this person never truly accepting that they're now alone. (Why don't you come and take me with you? Dreaming of the past, etc.)

Procol Harum – She Wandered Through The Garden Fence Lyrics 19 years ago
This song's about love.

This woman represents a person who comes into another person's life kind of unexpectedly. The potion "guaranteed to bring relief from all your suffering" is a metaphor for love; Are we not promised that love will solve all of our problems? The line, "You don't exist" represents us denying that we are in love with somebody, but you realize this once you are strapped to this torture rack.

The second verse is meant to represent when we are at a loss for words when we are around those we have feelings for and the constant lying that we do to impress them (Like a fool I believed myself and thought I was somebody else)

Finally, the woman leaves. The song takes place over a short period of time, showing how people like this can enter and leave our lives very quickly.

WorkingClassLoser pretty much summed it up. I've been there myself, thanks to reasons I'd rather not disclose.

Pink Floyd – Lost for Words Lyrics 20 years ago
In my opinion, I think this song is talking about how holding a grudge and hating somebody does nothing helpful. All it does is just traps you in a prison of sadness and anger. And even if you try to escape that prison by making friends of your enemies, those enemies will just spit on you.
