I think this song is about someone who has been accustomed to pain and misery. Therefore, he (or she) now feels nothing except for pain and is dying slowly for that reason.

This song is my favorite track on Ascendancy. To me, it is about how the government underestimates our abilities and about how the president's promises never become realized as he said they would. Therefore, "we are the deceived" in this nation and we live under "a manufactured god" which is the president, our so-called leader. |
