So do you think that we could work out a sign? So I’ll know it’s you and that it's over so I won't even try. |

| Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| .... Adam's current girlfriend is from Florida. he mentioned it from one of those phone calls back in november when they called random fans. "heyyy, my lady's from florida!" and then i saw them april 1st and got to talk to them after and fred said adam wouldn't come out because he was lying on his bunk in the bus talking to his girlfriend. maybe this is about her? Maybe saying that yes, he did cheat in the past but that's not who he is now. wedding bells... he's not ready to get married yet, etc. | |

small corrections: and there are things that follow us quietly to the past we've seen all those faces we won't go looking for trouble the rain it tumbled down through the cracks in the sky which made your hands grow watch your hands grow and we still see through their planks, shifted laughs we'll hold the hands of sinners and then we will pass |

I know that Straylight Run said that they wrote some songs about what's going on with the world and the Iraq war and such, and I think this song is one of them. Tearing out of these open pages (no idea what this is yet) Women and kids of all ages (the husbands go to war, leave their families at home) Millions of men with blank faces (you know how soldiers don't smile in their official pictures?) Italicized lies, headlines bold type (when is the was NOT in bold type in our newspapers?) Living lives just like deer in headlights (the u.s. is constantly being watched and criticized/praised by other nations) Terrified, blind, and wait to die (this could be either on the u.s. side or the middle eastern side. maybe the suicide bombers or kids that joined the military straight out of high school) I wonder when they'll come get me (will there be a draft?) I wonder when they'll come get me We want you, have to, need you and (again, could work for both sides. U.S. needs/wants more soldiers, middle easterners especially terrorists that raise kids for one purpose) We'll tell you when they're hungry again (this could be many things. media, government, etc. hungry for more news, hungry for bloodshed, hungry for news from home, etc.) We'll tell you when they're hungry again It never ends, never ends (no matter how long we fight will it ever really be over? people in the middle east have been fighting each other since biblical times, or it could be too much media, too much of a nation divided) Big shot screaming put your hands in the sky (big shot = U.S. is kinda the superpower. "screaming put your hands in the sky" = our soldiers tell them to give up, stop resisting, etc.) He says "Give it up boy, give it up or you're gonna die (boy = some of the iraqi soldiers are just kids - 12 or 13 years. give it up or you're gonna die = i can imagine them trying to talk them into surrendering and have a better alternative out.) You'll get a bullet in the back of the neck (we warned you to give it up...) In the back of the neck Right between the eyes" (i think that's a little much, but who knows, i'm not over there.) I don't think this song is really either pro war or anti war. I think it just kinda states the facts of the situations. There are several ways to interperate it. I can think of ways from the U.S. point of view, from the Iraqi point of view, from the Media's point of view, etc. |
