One of there best songs. About life I think, and how we have dreams about things we want to do in life. The Pulse version is incredible with the woman background singers, and it's amzing how it starts off so quiet, then builds up to a brilliant solo, with the orchestra accompanying. Hands down, one of the best songs, ever. |

Icredible lyrics. I love the last line as well. I understad where people are coming from, most have the right idea. He is speaking to a friend or a person close to him..."Hey you ! out there beyond the wall Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me Hey you ! don't tell me there's no hope at all. Together we stand, divided we fall." He's asking the person at the other side of the wall to help him, saying that here is still hope. The last line is saying that if we are on the same side of the wall, together, then we will stand tall and succeed, but if we are apart from each other, then we will crumble and fail. I actualy don't know what the wall is, a wall of hope and fail, a wall between heaven and hell, or it could be about love - the wall being an obsticale getting in the way of the realationship. They are wild guesses, hopefully someone will know what it is exactly and comment ;) |

I've never heard the studio version of this song, but I've heard it live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and it is VERY, VERY GOOD!!!! Probably the best song on that album. |

Philalelphia Eagles - Have you ever seen this band on stage? Just to sum them up - the shoot fireworks out of their guitars!!! They must be one of the best on - stage entertainers ever! I agree that the studio music COULD be better, but KISS are KISS because of what they do live, so to put it straight - shut the f!#$ up!!! Bosko - nice long review! I totally agree with you on every point made. Anyway, has anyone ever heard KISS live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra? Probably the best live album made! Go buy!!! |

This song sucks. What more to say? Oh yeah, every rap, hip-hop etc song sucks too!!! The only good music is rock and roll. In bands like Guns N' Roses and Pink Floyd, the music actually means something, it makes you cry, it make you think, it has true emotion. The lyrics are powerfull as they are thoughtful. Here, Eminem (the guy who thinks he rules the world 'cause he has a chainsaw) has took a classic pop song (which I don't like, I'm just saying..) and has killed it. End of story. To put straight how crap this song is, Eminem dosen't even sing in the chorus!!! Need I say more about that? Most of his songs are just a bunch of swear words put together and a couple of crappy beats and there. That makes him a star? My ass!!! It's time some artist who actually knows about songs and how to write them came into the world. Modern day music is so bad. I just can't explain it on this page. Because it's the only music out today, people listen to it on the radio and think "whoa... good song!" But if they were living 10/20 years ago, they would know true music. This is to anyone who reads this... Download a song by Guns N' Roses, it's called "Estranged". Sit in a room alone and close your eyes...Listen to every word, every note. Listen to the emotion, the sadness. Just do it....There, you will find REAL music... |

thomasroberts - if november rain were shorter, there would be no november rain!!! so shut the fuck up!!!! anyways, killer of a song. it's a bit confusing though - he says "everybody needs some time on their own", then says "everybody needs somebody" later in the song. so he's basically saying the opposite things (???)
not critising here, but has anyone noticed that Axl is like Elton John the 2nd in this song?
1) when has Axl Rose played the piano?
2) what are his glasses all about?
3) the lyrics - "it's hard to hold a candle in the cold november rain". these tie in with the lyrics in the song Candle In The Wind - if you hold a candle in the wind, it will blow out. if you hold a candle in the rain, it will blow out. the point being the relationship is the candle, and it is being blown out.
how do the lyrics connect with the video? i am not exactly sure. but i have a rough idea... in the video, Axl is getting maried with his g/f. during these scenes, he is singing "But lovers always come and lovers always go and no ones really sure who's letting go today". he's signifing that the relationship will one day end, but he's not sure if it will be him or her to end it. at the end of the video, his g/f is dead. he's now singing "don't ya think that ya need somebody, don't ya think that ya need someone, everybody needs somebody, you're not the only one". i think he's trying to say to her that she can't go alone. he's saying that everyone needs someone to comfort them in times of trouble.
btw people if you haven't already then listen to the GnR song "Estranged". it is november rain the 2nd. just as good!

Does anybody in this world actually respect Axl? the guy has gone through a lot in his life, the most obvious being his divorce from his wife. he used to sit in his house alone and cry. then all the original members of GnR left (ok, some were fired, but only because they gave abuse to Axl). he has spent the last 10 years of his life trying to get a new band up-and-running, and trying to peace together this new album, Chinese Democracy. this guy respects the fans, and tries to give them what they want. and you guys just have a go at him? are you out of your fuckin' minds?! glad I got that of my chest :-) |

Axl dedicated this song to his wife after they divorced. It's obviously about being apart (that's what estranged means) from the one you love. I don't know why this isn't in their Greatest Hits album, it's one of their best. Aswell as for his wife, I wonder if Axl wrote this because he knew the band was spliting up? And what on earth is the video about? It's got 1)Dolphins flying out of aeroplanes...2)Dolphins flying out of billboards and...3)Axl jumping of an oil tanker (WTF!?) |
