| this song reminds me of two friends who have more than friendly feelings, but never do anything about it. i mean, obviously it seems as if the entire song is about wanting to live life, but never really going out of the ordinary and breaking free of the herd on your own to actually live, just following the crowd all day long, day after day. but for me.. i relate that to having feelings for a friend but knowing things are easy and unawkward and uncomplicated without just admitting my feelings and it's just easier to live life day after day and never change anything, but always want to. wow, that's confusing. kinda get my drift though? | |

| this song could mean a lot of things, but i was driving on the turnpike with my mom today, and this song came on and we got really silent and just listened to it. i started to cry by the end, i asked my mom what she thought it meant, and she simply said, "this song is life from the time your a late teenager, through your 20's." she also said it reminded her of her husband, and i got that. it reminded me of my life, too. so, to put it simply, this song is about growing to me, learning, hurting, finding your true self. i don't know. | |

I don't think this song's too deep or anything.. I think it's just about what oh, just about every girl ever goes through. There's someone who all the boys love, all the girls love, you're jealous. It happens to the best of us. You alwyas want to make yourself believe she's really ugly on the inside and though everyone loves her, the jealous makes you wanna hit her. Who has that NOT happened to? Seriously. But whatever.. it's a fun song, good theme, it fits almost everyone. I agree with blaquefearie on wanting to just be the girl next door too..that's really what i am, but it would be nice to have the spotlight sometimes, wouldn't it? |

I think it's really neat when people write songs with my name in it. "ANNIE Waits." Andddd, genuis-turned-pedophile M. Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" is another favorite. But I love how I can relate to this song. I believe it's about an Annie waiting and waiting around for the perfect guy &the singer is always there reassuring her "And so he forgot, he forgot Maybe not Maybe he’s been seriously hurt" &He's always going to be waiting around for her.. hoping one day she'll see he's the perfect one. Gotta love it |

I read the song, and it's probably off... but what I got was that the person grew up around a parent, probably mother, who had a lot of trouble with love. Possibly split parents, or most likley they just weren't in love. She grew up seeing this, but never getting to express anything, or ask anything about it. "Cause I've seen love die way too many times, when it deserved to be alive. I've seen you cry, way too many times when you deserved to be alive." When I read that line I don't think of a guy I feel bad for, or something, I think of my mom. Because that happened to my mom and I. Is happening. And she can't see it, but it has such an effect on me.. I know it does. I've just started to see it. Also, "The Tide," by The Spill Canvas reminds me of my mom. She hasn't neglected me quite like that song, but she has a lot like this song. It's not really she 'negelected' me as bad as the stroy of the mother in "The Tide," or even this one, becuase we talk about it.. but I know it doesn't make it any better. "And you do your best to show me love, but you don't know what love is," The parent tries to raise the kid normally, show them love, but the kid knows all along what life (for her, or the mother, or whoever) is reall like. |

they see other people kissing, waiting for something bad to eventually happen is what i think the first part is about. the rest, to me, is saying they see the hurt coming before anything starts &are saying they're not going to give their heart up, they'd rather stay safe and watch from a distance. they don't want to fall in love becuase of the hurt it can bring. |

Well, I interpret this different than a romantic song or a song completely about sex. CAPS = what I think. There is a sexual meaning to it, obviously...I mean, what happens when the lights go out? hah. Anyways, though I don't think songs are meant to be analyzed to death I have some views on this one. The "only hold me up becuase you don't know who I really am"..well I agree with most everyone else. She's only holding him so high on a pedistol (sp?) becuase she has no clue who he is, he thinks very lowly of himself. The whole line "We're making out inside crashed cars" I think it means they're making out while the while everything is a wreck around them, including himself/themselves. & "sleeping through our memories" I think it's basically they stopped enjoying time together and they're just..like when you sleep you don't know what's going on around you and you stop noticing things. He wants to know what it's like to be her and not care and not know that someone loves you for something you're not. And of COURSE there's a sexual meaning. There is in just about every one of FOB's songs, hah :P Anyways..just think of what happens when the lights go out. They're akward and shy and then when the lights go out everything changes. "All of our moves make up for the silence"...they're too busy..'moving' and they don't have to worry about the silence between them, the reason their relationship is sucking. "I've got headaches, and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no" He's getting headaches over the whole thing, and he always has the worst luck...(he sure does have a negative view on his life, eh? anyways..) and she has no idea, nor does she probably care. It goes along with the whole "i wish i knew what it was like to be you" or whatever the line is. Sorry it was so long! I'm bored! IM me! hardlyxxlove! Haha! I think I should stop adding ! at the end of every sentence! Okay. ps-who has all seen casablanca? i really love that movie. my mom was the one who told me to watch it, actually. |
