Psychostick – BEER! Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, its pretty obvious he was.

This is a song that doesn't take a lot of thought to figure out what its about. But that's part of what makes it so fun. This song is just plain funny.

Audioslave – Wide Awake Lyrics 19 years ago
First comment (no, I have no idea why I got the song early). There's something really haunting about this song. Its definately political, but it isn't as in your face as a Rage song would have been about this.

Its supposed to be about Hurricane Katrina.

Black Stone Cherry – Lonely Train Lyrics 19 years ago
Definately seems anti-war (although I'm not sure what "Can't Judge a book looking at the cover" is supposed to mean).

JackR, is it still up for free download?

Bloodhound Gang – The Bad Touch Lyrics 19 years ago
Its a big dumb song, which, in this case, is a good thing. Its something that's just fun and you shouldn't take too serously. Still, the song has some pretty creative lyrics all things considered.

"I want you smothered want you covered like my Waffle House hashbrowns" is a great line, imo

Green Day – Paper Lanterns Lyrics 19 years ago
I had listened to this song a bunch of times, but never really heard all the lyrics. Than I heard one thing that made me want to listen to the rest. I think they are more relavent to my life now than when I first heard the song, so I'm almost glad I didn't know what he was singing until now.

I'd have to say that, although later Green Day songs are probably better, some of the early stuff (Kerplunk and before) I can relate to better.

The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby Lyrics 20 years ago
I just heard the song recently and I stopped what I was doing just to listen. It really is a great song.

I think it is about two lonely people who didn't know each other, but, if they had, could have had happiness. They both do lonely things because they have nothing better and wait for things to change. Only in death are they brought together, but it was too late (and neither one was saved because of it).

There's no happy ending.

Weezer – We Are All on Drugs Lyrics 20 years ago
While I think Make Believe is better than Maladroit and the Green album, I'd still have to put it behind the Blue album and Pinkerton (which isn't that bad, since those are both very good, and I don't even consider myself a huge Weezer fan). I think this song is livelier than some of the other songs around it (with the exception of Beverly Hills, which I thought was annoying). Not that those songs are necessarily bad, but it felt like a welcome change, so this song has really grown on me.

Anyway, since this is about song meanings. When I first heard it, I did think it was just about drugs. But the more I thought about it, I began to think it couldn't just be about it. I guess the meaning has been resolved, since you can't get more sure than what Rivers Cuomo says it is.
