I think you guys might be running away with the drug stuff, but you know.. Maybe not. I think the song is about getting over someone he likes, and he's sick of the "traditional" way of getting over it. He doesn't want to wait around for the "we're over let's be friends" speech, because all it's doing is making him perform the same silly habits and feel ridiculous. I think he's saying he doesn't want to take his pills, he doesn't want to do these things because he so badly just wants a change, and wants it to be over. Tell me you're alright, so we can get this bull over with, I'll be alright to.. Let's just end it. |

Like "Westfall", this is about evil and judgement. It's about how people who do horrible things are still people, still deserve love and respect.. Even if they've done something horrible. I think the last few lins are sarcastic, about passing false judgement, like, "Oh don't worry, it could NEVER EVER happen to you, You KNOW you're just WAY too kind, you could NEVER lose control." Keep it in mind the next time you want to hate someone. |

And he still likes her and feels like a dork replying to her. But, the distance doesn't matter, because he's FINALLY going to act on it... Something he's never did before. So it is a crush, and online relationships/reunions, and finally going for who you love. So it's even more awesome. |

I wonder, is the song about media, and if so, it doesn't seem like fight back. The song talks about radiapathy, and it seems to be how he lives his life; he gets up every day to the same old same old, and lives a life not happy or sad, but just.. Blah. Empty. Apathetic to what's going on, to what he has and what life offers him, and even still he said he would clone himself to have more? I don't know if it's a rebuff to the media's 'shittiness' because the last verse talks about how the world can be blown to bits, and he wouldn't care.. So it's not exactly suggesting he cares that commerical radio is 'shitty'? Does being "a vulture to his carrion" mean he eats whatever 'food' is around? Vulture and carrion aren't exactly words with good connotations. But, the song is kind of strangely hopeful. I always see "come on, it's time to wake up" as a way of him trying to shake himself from his apathy. I don't know if I'm right, but that's how I see it. I always get goosebumps on "I will be the vulture to its carrion". Must be the slight voice distortion. |
