| The Decemberists – The Soldiering Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree with trafalgar. I think the "Brokeback Battlefield" comments are taking the little insinuations a bit too far. It's not so much about being gay, but about being close. Fighting in an isolated environment, knowing that any moment you could die, but more importantly, knowing any moment your fellow soldier could die. |

| Sondre Lerche – Is It Okay If I Call You Mine? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
He said he never sang it, in one of his old monologues. "The song some of you might have come across on the internet called "Is it okay if I call you mine", is not written, nor recorded by me. The song is a bootleg recording of someone who resembles my voice to the dot (it maybe even is me?), recorded at a schoolplay several years ago. Rumour has it the song was featured in the musical "Fame". I cannot remember participating in any version of this famous starschool-musical, although I cannot deny the fact that whoever imitating me, is doing a rather excellent job." |

| Kings of Convenience – Sorry or Please Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think he's singing to a girl who's visiting, saying even though he's busy (his "prison", his job perhaps?) he still agrees to spare a week to spend with her. He knew her before but didn't care to notice her. Now that he does he realizes more and more how much he likes her. Despite her actions, he isn't sure if she really likes him or if she's trying to say she's sorry for not being able to stay with him. |

| Sondre Lerche – All Luck Ran Out Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sondre says on a video on his site that this song is based off of an article he read about these murderers who were being defended who claimed that they weren't really bad people. I find it really funny. | |
| Sondre Lerche – It's Our Job Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song holds a special place in my heart. To me it's about a relationship ending, but still being able to hold feelings in your heart and moving on at the same time. | |
| Sondre Lerche – Modern Nature Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Okei, so that last comment was really offensive, but as much as I hate to admit it, this song does tend to sound like it's a bit on the homophobic side. The more obvious references, of course, are "technicolor dreams" and "modern nature," but other lyrics could point to homophobia as well. Being "wide awake" could refer to being aware of your sexuality, and "the surface is gone" could refer to coming out. There's also this verse which, to me at least, makes it sound as if he's trying to go against what every one else says is right for him : The time is here for being straight It´s not too early and never too late People say I should watch my pace (What do they know?) "Think how you spend all your days" (They all say so) I still don't want to believe that the song is homophobic, though, because Sondre is my favorite singer and to know he's homophobic would... crush me. |
