I think the slide just gives the song that desolate and aching tone. Now I sound like a pretentious arse. |

| I still don't get your country observation. Just because a song has slide guitar doesn't necessarily make its style or sound country. | |

| I love her unplugged album because it can be read on so many levels. This song perfectly encompasses this - on first look it can be read as a simple love song but when you read some of the lyrics and the general frame of mind she seemed to be in at that time - it's more about having God in her life. | |

| Such a damn sexy song. When he sings 'Am I cursed or am I blessed? I can't tell, Oh yes!' he sounds like an angel drunk on lust. | |

An absolutely gorgeous song. A theme that seems to appear in a lot of Ani's music seems to be that of choices and trying to find a balance between things. She makes the lyrics: "you are a miracle but that is not all you are also a stiff drink and i am on call you are a party and i am a school night and i'm looking for my door key but you are my porch light" sound anything but trite and insipid. It all seems to be about having to make a decision to let go of something or someone and finding the balance between what one wants and actually needs. |

| I always saw this song as being about being in love with someone who you also have feelings of hate and such anger for. Like others have said "encompassing both anger and love". Just being so in love with someone who you know degrades and hurts you but who you can't help loving or stop loving anyway. | |
