| Blue Öyster Cult – Joan Crawford Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Um, no Figuroa. Christina was the little girl Joan Crawford [movie star from the late -20s to -50s] had adopted (along with a little boy). After Joan's death in the late -70s, the adult Christina wrote a novel, "Mommie Dearest", that was about growing up in the Crawford house and being subjected to verbal and physical abuse from Joan. It was later made into a movie in the -80s. I think parts of this song are about Christina's torment ("Catholic schoolgirls throw away their mascara" - there was a part in the novel where Christina had to live in a convent because she was caught making out with a boy at her private school, and Joan insisted she be locked away, if I remember correctly) The last half of this song from the "Christina" whisperings is pretty self-explanatory - Joan acted like a monster that Christina feared. The first half however, is just plain ol' BOC goodness :) | |

| HOLY FUCK! Terrific song, probably the best yet lyrics-wise from Darkest Hour. I'm surprised there's no comments yet on this. | |

Sounds like he's screaming: "[screams]pain...there is love, there is love, there is love...[screams]love - there is love, there is love...underneath there is love" If that's wrong (got a nagging feeling that it is), doesn't matter, it still sounds incredible. |
