| Matthew Sweet – Dark Secret Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think rather that the song is about taking revenge on people whose weakness makes them parasites...You are sickened by the weakness Of a heart that's filled with fear Otherwise why mention their weakness? They sneer at people with the strength to live responsibly with self respect ...And if the world won't understand you You can make it disappear The world is full of these people, as the song says. You can make it disappear by avoiding those people and by socializing with people of your ilk and if that isn't an option you can destroy them. Make it in the cards for them to lead themselves to destruction. Yes, manipulate them, prey on their weaknesses. Make them disappear. The dark secret is the knowledge to do that, the knowledge to make things better, something they do not have, make you superior to them and more powerful. Whether it's by magic or psychology and by giving them their just desserts. It's not to become a parasite yourself by preying on the innocent, but to make the real parasites either learn their lesson, or be gone. |

| Bloc Party – Sunday Lyrics | 18 years ago |

From their website... Heavy night, it was a heavy night Feels like we've just, come back from the dead Heavy night, it was a heavy night I cannot remember what I said to anyone If we get up now, we can catch the afternoon Watch the under15's playing football in the park Let’s sit in St Leonard's on this alcoholic day We're doing the best, with what we've got I love you in the morning When you're still hung over I love you in the morning When you're still strung out I work hard all week and so do you We deserve to let off some steam Less orthodox creeping, We need to rage through all of this life There might be ones who are smarter than you That have the right answers that wear better shoes Forget about those melting ice caps We're doing the best, with what we've got I love you in the morning When you're still hung over I love you in the morning When you're still strung out When I'm with you, I am calm A pearl in your oyster Head on my chest a silent smile A private kind of happiness You see giant proclamations Are all very well But our love is louder than words I love you in the morning |

The first verse (after the hook) seems to be justifying the interest in money. He's from the hood, was poor as all hell, and now he has some money and that can naturally make someone in this situation very happy... and that's ok. "Rap critics that say he's "money, cash, hoes" I'm from the hood stupid, what type of facts are those? If you grew up with holes in your zapper toes You'd celebrate the minute you was havin dough I'm like "fuck critics", you can kiss my whole asshole" |

| Inkubus Sukkubus – Samhain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| More specifically, Samhain and Halloween have similar inspirations. | |
| Inkubus Sukkubus – In Defence Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think that the song is mocking the old myth about witches having relations with Satan. | |
| Inkubus Sukkubus – Belladonna and Aconite Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It seems to me that the song is about a journey through the astral plane. Hallucinogenic substances are sometimes used to aid in rituals to do so. | |
