from interviews with the band and dave the one by one album is about love wich would kinda fit as it was written around the whole engagement/marrage to jordyn Blum etc i think this song kind refers to him spendin most of his life lookin for the rite person nd it usually failing " all my life iv bin searching for something, something, never comes, never leads to nothing " nd now he's found jordyn "the prize at the end of the rope "it could also be a metaphor for how dave has spent many years as a backin part for other succesfull bands but has only just been recognised for his own talent as a mucisian! also other people have mentioned the whole oral sex thing wich i think is partly true after reading a q&a with dave in Q magazine but i dont think the line " i love it but i hate the taste " is directly a reference to that! |

i pretty much agree with the 1st comment, i think tht maxi is claiming tht to him music is like a religion, christians congregate to pray nd preach to help them when theryre feelin low or in times of need nd for maxi nd many people this is the affect music has on them. Music can bring people together im personally never happier than wen im at a gig or festival nd i think they'res no better atmosphere than in a feild of thousands of happy danceing people so meterphorically god is a dj! |

this song isn't primarily an anti-war song but more of an anti-ignorance song, the lines in the courus are basically saying wether u are living in the east or the west racism nd lyeing to ur people is as big of a weapon as a suicide bomber or sudam hussain. the song isn't anti-british, american or against the people livin in the east, maxi talks as a child who's father is bein sent off to fight but this could be a soldier from any country as it would be in reality. The story thts bein told then ends by sayin tht aslong as the majority of the world continues not to act against the lies our goverment nd media feed us the state wer'e in will be a continuous vicious cycle! |
