It's kinda funny, actually. I think this is a great song--very catchy, fun, etc. My sister owns--and loves--the CD, so I hear it enough. I like the song--BUT listening to the lyrics--this guy's a LOSER! "Everyone wants, everyone needs, everyone hurts sometimes like me It never rejects me, always accepts me nothing can compete with my first stereo..... Somethin' tells me I'll never be close to another like you helped me throught the things that we all go through." That's so...pathetic. Anyways, that's my harsh little interpretation...;-) |

Wow. Very...happy. As much as this is almost sickeningly sweet in its contentedness--I love it. It really describes perfectly that feeling when you're "newly" in love with someone. "any minute im not with you i hope ill see you soon theres just something that happens when you walk into the room and instantly i feel so complete it hits me right about the time you kiss my cheek and you give me this feeling its like no other feeling but it knocks me off my feet please dont ask me what i like about you cause its every little thing you do and thats just the way you make me feel" This section is a sums up flawlessly the way I feel about my boyfriend. (Is that wierd, that I, a female, am using the lyrics that were written for a girl for my boyfriend?)...Oh well ;-) Seriously, though--other than the perfume part, this is my boyfriend and I. |

My boyfriend (who listens to techno like his life depends on it) introduced me to this song several months ago--and for the first week I had it in my CD player, it was playing--literally--non-stop. So unbelievably catchy. I have never met a single person who actually listened to this song the whole way through, and didn't end up catching themselves singing it involuntarily within a day's time. Also,(and this is something I never thought I would hear myself say) I think Vagabond_Priest is somewhat overanalyzing the lyrics. This song--at least the English translation--is basically just that--a song, albeit one with a VERY catchy dance tune and fun lyrics. Somehow, though, I suspect that so much is lost in translation...someday, I will learn to speak Romanian and listen to this song again. |

You are all morons if you honestly believe that this song is about a fucking DILDO! Are any of you imbeciles capable of coherent thought?? Not every form of expression out there has to be about sex! You juvenile, immature persons of little or no intelligence are extremely annoying. Just because all YOU can get--or think about--is a 3 dollar sex toy to fuck does not mean everyone else is like you. Give me a break! Or, you know what, seeing as this is such a common theme--maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I'm reading some insane theory into it, and the rest of you know what you're talking about--but it really just makes sooo much more sense.... To me, it seems as if the protagonist (if you idiots even know what that means!) has just gotten out of a very damaging relationship--but one that was very difficult to leave. She loved(s) him, and gave him all she had and could--and he hurt her beyond belief. So she is sickened with her own naivete, her own beliefs about men "love". It's a very bitter, very sardonic view on "the perfect relationship". Just read the lyrics, for Christ's sake!... "Who could ever ever ask for more love without complications galore" ...She's fed up with the complications of love. She wishes there could be some easy, simple choice, a relationship "without strings"--as if that has ever existed... "And i'll never be alone not with my coin operated boy......" --At least her imaginary "coin-operated boy" will never leave or hurt her... "This bridge was written to make you feel smittener with my sad picture of girl getting bitterer can you extract me from my plastic fantasy i didnt think so but im still convinceable" --He wants her back--and she's so torn over what to do. A part of her still loves him--but she also knows he'll only hurt her more--but she may be willing to give him one more chance... "i want it i want you i want a coin operated boy" --She wants that imaginary boy to be real--or so she thinks. what she really wants is the real man to just shape up and love her as much as she loves him.... |
