ben truly has the best of both worlds he can go pearl jam with the guitar and slide or he can go troubadour with the acustic or light slide like "flake" with j.j. or her can go soul, he randomly busted out a nice soul song at a concert i went to in oct. were he himself didnt use any instroments and just hopped around like he does from time to time, he seems to find himself without an instroment or playing another band member's instroment(leon's percussions in the hollywood bowl) in at least one of his songs in every concert |

i had a discussion on this once and my take is the "lonley people" are the ones who were left with no one after a war or the industrial revolution and, as they were tought, they could always turn to god. im sure there is some direct accounts of something in there but there is always a root to hold a plant. the change of song purpose from the 30's and forty's- to the fiftys-to the sixties is clearly provin in this lil number. |
