Soundgarden – Bleed Together Lyrics 20 years ago
I love this song! Makes me think about the boy I like. Not whole the text, but some parts. Especially the line "I know you`re sick and alone" I`ve never talked to this boy, but I can see he`s lonely. He looks unhappy and weak. The "We can bleed together"-part makes me think about him and me. If we got to know each other, we could go through all the shit together. we could support and help each other. In a way, I know how he feels. I actually don`t know what the song really is about, but it just sounds so good to me, because of these lines, which I can refer to my own life, and the music makes these feelings even stronger.

Travis – Last Train Lyrics 20 years ago
It`s about a boy who`s not getting the love he needs from his girlfriend. He feels that she doesn`t care about his feelings, and that she`s ignoring him and pushing him away. The trust they once had is gone, and there`s no one to rely on. She don`t care about him, she only cares about herself. He`s sad, angry and bitter. Very good song!

Nirvana – Drain You Lyrics 20 years ago
I`ve never really thought this song was about drugs. I believe it`s a love song about Kurts feelings for Tobi Veil. For him she was perfect, and he wanted more than anything else that she could love him back (saddly she never loved him the same way...) The second verse is about how she thought him stuff, and how he was willing to learn it all, so that she could be proud of him and love him. She was the one who got him hooked on the "Punk is freedom" thing, as well as she got him hooked on feminism... He took it all , and some of it became a part of him, even years after they were apart. "Without a poson apple", could possibly mean that everything she stood for were pure honesty (or that he definately believed it was honest and pure). "It`s now my duty to completely drain you. A travel through a tube and end up in your infection" I`ve always thought that part was about having sex. I like his way of expressing it, and it makes me think it would be a great song listening to, while having sex with a person I truely love. Yeah, I definately think it`s a song about how strongly he feels for Tobi, and how he`s worshipping her more than anything else (even drugs). It`s about strong emotions and a desperate need of being loved as much as you love another person. I`ve heard that Kurt never really got over Tobi, but I`m of course not sure that it`s true. Anyway, great music and great lyrics! Thank you Kurt!

Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics 20 years ago
The way I see it, Kurt did believe in the exsistance of Jesus, but he didn`t love him. Kurt lived a life in pain. He was always searching for a love, that just never seemed to reach him. I don`t find it strange that it might be difficult to believe in a so called "Allmighty, good lord", when hapiness never seem to come your way. I think I believe in the existance of a God myself, but I don`t love him. I`I don`t think he loves me either. I really don`t believe he is as good as some of you people say that he is. If he was good, the world would most likely be a much better place. There`s simply too much hate in this world, too much suffering! Ìf God is good, why isn`t he there to help the people that need him the most. Where are he, when we more than anything else need to be taken care of? How can he watch a person live a whole life in suffering, without helping him/her. I just don`t understand that. I know some of you probably would think: "People have their own free will. Life won`t be better than you make it yourself". I`ve heard it lots of times before. But I think the whole creation of the world is a living prove of God, being someone which definately isn`t perfect and definately has bad feelings, as well as good feelings. The world`s a unfair place, where some people have got everything they could wish for (both love and material goods), while others have nothing. It isn`t that strange that some of us choose to reject "the love" of God, Jesus or whatever... But this is only my opinion. I respect others for having different views!

I think this song meant a lot to Kurt, and it means a lot to me as well. Sometimes I cry while hearing it! It`s so beautiful! The Vaselines` version is also good, but I like Nirvanas version the most!

Travis – Re-Offender Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this song is about a girl, that doesn`t treat her bf right. Maybe she is cheating on him etc, but the second verse makes me feel there`s something more about it.
"Everybody thinks your well
Everybody thinks I`m ill
Watching me fall apart
Falling into your spell"
Yeah I think it possibly could be about how this girl controls him. He`s under her spell. She was probably sweet & kind when they met, but she changed. And I think she makes their friends and people in generally look at her as the innocent part, the one that haven`t done anything wrong. There`s nothing wrong with her, it`s just him. He`s the desperate one. He "needs" her to feel worthy. That`s the way she talks about him, and everybody thinks he`s the problem, because he`s getting weaker and weaker, when he`s under her control. Well, that`s my opinion. Really good song by the way.

Nirvana – Milk It Lyrics 20 years ago
Her milk is my shit
My shit is her milk

I think those lines are about his marriage to Courtney, and how he feel about them as a couple.
She was the strong one, he was her "depressed", "miserable" husband. He`s comparing her to milk, while he`s comparing himself to shit. As a couple, they were opposites. She loved getting publisity, driving in big limousines etc., while he hated it. I think he admired her a bit for being so strong, but in the same time her way of threating made him feel weaker. When he`s saying "Her milk is my shit, my shit is her milk" he`s talking about how they were bound to each other, because of their marriage, and he is talking about their opposites. Okey, I apologise my bad English, but I hope you got my point.

Nirvana – Milk It Lyrics 20 years ago
I own my own pet virus
I get to pet and name her
Her milk is my shit
My shit is her milk

I think those lines possibly could be about Courtney. He`s comparing her to milk, while he`s comparing himself to shit. I think he admired her a bit, for being so "strong", but in the same time she made him feel weaker, in her way of threating him. They were opposites, just like milk and shit. When he`s saying "Her milk is my shit, my shit is her milk", he`s talking about him and Courtney as a couple, their big differences, how she was the boss, and he was the "depressed husband", which she "had to take care of". And how they "fed of off each other", even though they were different. Sorry, I`m not good at speaking English, but I hope you get my point.

By the way, this is an amazing song. Great lyrics, great vocals and great rythms.

Foo Fighters – My Hero Lyrics 20 years ago
This song was written in the honor of Kurt Cobain. I think the line "Here goes my hero, he`s ordinary", refers to how everybody looked upon Kurt as a god, when he actually wanted them to look upon him as the same ordinary person he was before Nirvana became famous. He wasn`t perfect, but still he was a good man, and Dave Grohl appreciated him really much. With this song Dave tells us about how much Kurt really meant to him.

This is my number 1 Nirvana favourite. This song is just awesome. I love it: The melody, the lyrics... Yeah, it`s just faboulous. I think it`s about Kurt and Courtneys relationship, which not really was so good.

Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics 20 years ago
I REALLY think this song is about Courtney. After I had been watching the film "Kurt and Courtney" it came clear to me how evil that woman really was. All she ever cared about was money, fame and getting publicity. Kurt was one of the "hottest" musicians on that time. He earned a lot of money and got lots of publicity. That was perfect for Coutney. What more could she wish for? Her band Hole was facing a much better time, just because of her marriage to Kurt. The couple looked like they loved each other in the beginning, yeah, they really looked happy, but the truth is that she never really threated him nicely. She was a commander. She cheated on him several times. He got sick about peforming, but that wasn`t okay with her. He couldn`t quit, she wouldn`t allow him. What about all the money? After his death she was talking a lot of shit about him in the Media, and also while the investigation with Tom Grant. I won`t blame her for murdering him, she could possibly have done it, but it could as well be himself. But if he did, don`t blame him! Blame her! She was a selfish witch. She didn`t care about him. The lines: "Nothing really bothers her, she just wants to love herself", refers to Courtney. Can`t everybody hear that? "I will move away from here...", yeah, he couldn`t stand her no more. I know some people about there still believe they had a wonderful relationship and that we need to give Courtney som respect, but I don`t give a damn. I know the truth! I know what Kurt and Courtneys friends say about her! I know how mean she was. They was facing a divorce, so I don`t think Kurt loved his wife that much the last time...

Nirvana – Something in the Way Lyrics 20 years ago
After watching the Nevermind DVD, it came clear to me that Kurt never lived under a bridge. The song`s actually about homeless people, and how they kinda "live under a bridge." Not exactly living under a bridge, it`s just a way of expression. Kurt never said the exact meaning, in most of his songs he used metaphors. This song is really good. I`ve said it before, but I`ll say it again: Kurt was great! He was an artist!

I think that the line "Bruises on the fruit" also could be about something which at first seems very positive, could turn out to be negative. I`m not really sure!

Nirvana – In Bloom Lyrics 20 years ago
"Sell the kids for food": I think that line could be about the Media. How they used Nirvanas (and most other bands) fame to earn money. Nirvana was surely one of the hottest bands on that time, and the Media used their fame to get publisity. "Weather changes moods": Could be about how being a band was just fun in the beginning. Kurt once said he wanted Nirvana to be the biggest band in the world, but he just wanted to play his music, so did Krist and Dave. They didn`t realize about all the attention they would get from the Media and their fans. So I really think that line could be about how their enourmous popularity changed their hapiness about being in a band which wanted to play their music and have fun. The next to lines I`m really not sure about, because of my bad English. The chorus could, as most people think, be about some fans, which listen to Nirvana just because it`s cool. But they don`t really know what they sing about and stands for. Next verse: "We can have some more. Nature is a whore" Could be about how being famous really sucks sometimes. Everyone wants to be famous, but we don`t really know what it`s all about. "Bruises on the fruit." Could be about how the Media quickly takes the new band under their wings and use their fame. But I`m only guessing. I believe that this song is about some fans and the Media, which makes being a band difficult.

Yeah, that "In bloom video" is just great. I love it. What I like the most about it is that they all look so happy. They`re joking around, just having fun! It would have been nice if they had more music videos on that DVD too I think. I like the "Heartshaped box" video really much, and "Smells like teen spirit". But saddly, these three videos are the only Nirvana music videos I`ve seen. But still, the homevideos from the bands early days are great too, and the concerts!

Yeah, I`ve bought it! It`s really great I think. It`s amazing how many faboulous songs they`ve made. Even the demos are great, and the solo acoustics. It amazes me how much soul Kurt puts into his songs. The solo acoustic version of All apologies is my favourite of the solo acoustics. It`s just so beautiful, that it almost hurts a little listening to it. Other favourites are "Verse chorus verse", "Old age", and Sappy, even though I`d heard Sappy before I bought the boxset. You`ve got it too, I guess?

I think it`s the man which rapes the girl who say "Let me clip dirty wings" I`m not really good at speaking English. I kinda think I know the meaning of that line, but it`s hard explaining it all in English. Ànyway, I think this man, as I said before wants to make the girl feel shameful. Most of the girls which gets raped, keep it in their memory for years, as a terrible experience. She maybe was a virgin and he changed that, and she doesn`t feel clean anymore? But, yeah it could possibly be an attempt to forget and try to move on also. I`m not really sure about that line. I think that`s the hardest part of the song to understand. And yeah, Very Ape is a really cool song. Kurt really knew how to make wonderful songs. I appreciate Nirvana more than any other band. They`re the best!

Nirvana – Very Ape Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah, I call myself VeryApe, but I`m definetly not one of these macho men the song tells us about. (Actually I`m a girl:)
The song tells us about this macho man, which think he`s so much better than anyone else. I think the chorus:
Out of the ground
Into the sky
Out of the sky
Into the dirt
is about how he`s acting, like he`s the king of the world, don`t care about anyone but himself, he`s on the top of the world. But it won`t last forever. He`s gonna fall, because he`s only acting, he`s acting like he`s somebody he`s not, and that`s gonna break him. If you really want to feel good, you have to be yourself and not act like you`re someone you`re not.

I think most of the men which rape girls are doing it because they are really disturbed, they`re sexists, and are willing to do everything to get themselves pleased. And just as you say NirvanaSystem, they want to feel powerful. A man which rapes someone can`t be a normal person, has to be disturbed or a psykopat without any feelings. It`s really terrible that people can act like that. I`m really not sure about that line: "Let me clip dirty wings". I see this man as a really sick person, and I think he possibly look upon it as a game, and he really enjoys to see the girl frightened and shameful.
This guy wants the power, and he wants to be pleased.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this song is about a friend, which let him down. He forgives this friend, but he`s turning him down again and again, and he gets really upset about this friends way of threating him. The song could also be about the Media, and their often awful way of threating people. No, I don`t really think this song is about rape

Nirvana – Polly Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is about a girl who got raped, that`s a fact! Kurt read about this in a Newspaper, and he thought it was a terrible story. People who think this song is about his drug abuse are very, very wrong. Drug was really not the only thing Kurt cared about, he really cared for people. This is a really great song, strong lyrics, very dark. What really makes it so good is because we see it from the bad guys wiew. How he feel pleasure, while the girl desperately tries to get away. He`s a really sick person, and I think the line "Let me clip dirty wings" maybe refers to how he thinks of her. He may be thinking that she wants it, wants him to make her "dirty" maybe. Maybe he doesn`t realise the fact that what she really wants is to get away. Her way of desperate acting, kinda turns him on I think. He look upon it as a game, that`s just how sick he is. Another possibility: He tries to offend her, and make her feel shameful.

Nirvana – Territorial Pissings Lyrics 20 years ago
I think Territorial Pissings is one of the coolest songs ever made in the history of rock! With this song Kurt tells us what he really mean about things. The verses are pretty short, but you get the point. I`m only speculating: "When I was an alien, cultures weren`t opinions". I think what he is talking about could be himself when he was younger, before he realized about cultures and opinions. We all know about how many different opinions people have when it comes to cultures. People look down on each other, because of the big differences. The muslims in Palestina and the jews in Israel will never learn to accept each other. When Kurt talks about himself as an "alien", I think maybe he`s talking about that he wasn`t actually aware of how big this problem really was, and maybe he didn`t care before it came clear to him? We know Kurt hated racism! Next verse: "Never met a wise man, if so it`s a woman!" Kurt understood that women are just as much worth as men, somethin many other people haven`t understood yet (I hate those people). Third verse: "Just because you`re paranoid, don`t mean they`re not after you." I think it`s about people generally. You can`t trust everyone. People may let you down. In the chorus: "Gotta find a way, a better way when I`m there". Kurt sings it with a desperate voice. It`s like he`s screaming: "What is happening to the world! It`s got to stop!"
A very great song from my favourite peformer, Kurt Cobain, the genious:)

Pearl Jam – Jeremy Lyrics 20 years ago
This song really aches. It`s one of my favourite Pearl Jam songs and the lyrics are just so strong. It tells you about this boy, not an ordinary boy, no, this one is different. He`s a lonely boy, which prefers his own company (actually not, but that`s what people think). I don`t think this song refers only to the boy who shot himself in English class, I think it is a warning. A warning to all of the people who treat other people bad because they`re a little different! People have to learn that we shall respect each other. That`s the fact. "Jeremy spoke in class today", that one comes as a shock. Nobody had expected this from him. Maybe he hadn`t spoken before. This was the first time in history, and everyone got shocked. Maybe it`s not actually that Jeremy had spoken they were talking about either. If it refers to this episode... But you can see it in so many ways...

Nirvana – Sappy Lyrics 20 years ago
"And if you save yourself, YOU will make HIM happy". Isn`t it obvious? HE is God, and it`s YOUR time to face the fact. Do you want to accept this anymore, do you really want the kind of life you live? You feel captured and unsure about your faith in God, and also your place in life! And when Kurt`s singin about this laundry room you`re in, I think he`s talking really straight and clear. It`s about you being "cleansed" in this "laundry room", which actually is another word for "YOUR LIFE", dominated by God and other people around you who try to tell you what to do and how to act, wash away your "sins". `"He`ll cover you with grass": I think it means that he (God) take away your trust in yourself, make you blind kinda! I think what Kurt really wanted to say with this song was "Trust youself! Don`t let the others tell you how to act!"

Well, my opinions!
