Avenged Sevenfold – M.I.A. Lyrics 20 years ago
Ok, but now you're making a stretch. I mean some people might consider the was in Iraq and Afghanistan a modern day crusade, so if Avenged also believe this than the song would then, in turn, also be about a modern day crusade. It still wouldn't be about the crusades, and not once in the song are the crusades alluded to. In fact the narrator of the song says "no one tells me all the reasons we're here...", Crusaders knew exactly why they were doing what they were doing.

If you really want to make a stretch, be my guest, but its just far more logical that the song is about the current situation in Iraq, and can be applied to other meaningless wars.

Ok, first off, if being called "stupid" really offends anyone then you probably shouldn't be on the internet. If anyone thinks any of my interpretations of songs are stupid, then call me stupid, I'm a big kid I can handle it.

Second, MIA means "Missing In Action", and that kind of terminology was not used at the time of the crusades.

Third, just because Avenged Sevenfold have a lot of biblical themes, it does not mean that every single one of their songs is going to be religiously themed.
The crusades was a period of time, I forget when, I think around 1200 A.D., but I could be wrong. Where christians were killing and persecuting non-christians. In the middle east.

There is nothing in this song that suggests its the crusades except for the fact that they say "God." But the crusades idea is such a far stretch when everything in the song sounds modern. The whole song just sounds like any modern day vietnam,/Iraq type war.

Its not about the crusades. idiots.

Avenged Sevenfold – Burn It Down Lyrics 20 years ago
He burst a blood vessel, and had to have vocal chord surgery. The whole album is scream-less. I think its their best work to date.

hmm, well i'd have to say you're both idiot. The song is clearly about going to war. It sounds like it is being told through the eyes of a soldier fighting in a foreign land. Yah, Avenged have a few references to the bible within a few of their songs, but there is nothing in this song that indicates it has anything to do with the crusades. If I had to guess im saying it is aimed at the war in Iraq. It talks about not knowing the real reasons for the war, i.e. people questioning Bush's reasons for sending us into Iraq.
