i think josh says this best himself. i saw him do this live, and this is what he said about the song: "i wrote this song before i started touring for a living, and i was from idaho, and delaware and rhode island were like totally exotic places. the island, you know, is a total ripoff when you show up. they don't have any palm trees in and any of the dew. you've seen palm trees in like minnesota. they look sad, and they scream quietly. and that's how it is in rhode island too. the are no monkeys; there's nothing there. just a lot of temp work. so, this is for the romance or the east coast and..." also, he randomly lost his place in the middle of the song and started talking about pathos. |

| to those who translated this, though the common dictionary definition of morena is brunette, he uses morena to mean pretty or beautiful (usually the third or fourth definition down in a spanish only dictionary). he is saying "my beautiful". | |

this song sounds like it's about someone who is in a disfunctional relationship, and the person has a whole bunch of memories from this relathionship, and that person just wants out for a while, the person just needs some time to rethink all the crap that's been going on and then also, this person wants to make the relationship work out, but there are a whole bunch of bad feelings that this person wants to get away from anyway, i think this songs is too personal for the band to be able to go inot any more depth |
