okay so as any die hard blink fan knows tom is obsessed with ufos an dthe whole area51 craze this is a more serious version of "aliens exist" from enema of the state, as with every other song on this album it was a song written when blink was in it newly reached fame and popularity, a time when the market was still rather poppy and definitely not as angsty as it is today and there was no room for this song or many others. many people have wrongly labeled some of *blink182's* newer work off their latest album as boxcar racer songs that didn't make it onto the bcr album, when in reality all the blink songs are blink songs are blink songs and boxcar racer song are boxcar racer songs, period. just because blink182 is more angsty now than ever doesn't mean anything and it certainly doesn't make blink anymore bcr than it claims to be |

okay so the song is obviously about a new love...what seems to be under fire here is whether or not the chorus is sexual... "first comes heavy breathing" i think that the first line is actually referring to sex, yes, but not in an explicit way, more like making love if you will "staring at the ceiling" in my mind i can see him laying beside her in bed after they have had sex, one hand on his stomach, the other behind his head...just thinking and he can't help but wonder... "what will happen next?" and before he can finish this thought he answers himself "i don't wanna know" telling himself this so that he can simply enjoy the moment...and live this new love as if it were his first i love the backing vocals and i don't think they were at all gay, considering it was a girl singing the ad-libs, lol |
