i don't know if this is warpwhistlee's show or not, but i wrote down what my recording of damien's "pre-song" story constisted of: A man walks into a bar Sits up with his… the, uh, at the bar And, uh, this girl comes in young, beautiful, she sat beside him he looks at her, he goes “wowhhh” and they talk [something] they [something], they buy their drinks and she’s really polite, really, really, polite so she talks, and talks, and talks and he feels, “oh my God she likes me” and, uh, he’s “woahh” and, after about three-quarters of an hour of uneq… arm-rubbing, touching kind of stuff, like, “ahh” she doesn’t notice a thing though, you know her fellah comes on, and takes her home so he picks up the beer mats, and scribbles down… [then Damien goes into the song. “Well, cheers darling…”] i don't quite have the Irish accent down, so i was clueless to what the [something]s were. oh, and i dig the comments by electricocean and whisper goodbyes. way to take notice. the envy green, the boy/man, etc. damien is one hell of a lyricist. |

pomegranatesrock... i have that version of the song too. he attempts a solo at the end, and messes up a little bit.. so, he says, "::sniff::, kinda funked that one up." i agree that it's about him looking to the inside, and not necessarily his inside, but the inside of some group or something of the sort. my verion is called walk alone too. |

I've always interpreted the chemicals as meaning chemistry between the girl and the guy that she cheated with. though, either way, it's inexcusable. and i'm pretty positive it's: "i'm at odds with me now. so stay gone, go ahead and say before i'm on my way... & "tell the tiny chemicals. the ones you hold responsible..." yea.. i'm a big johnny m. fan... and can totally relate to this one |

thrice-noapokoni333 - why are you posting this untrue crap on here... this is where you voice your opinions on the meanings of songs. hence "songmeanings.com" thank you mayerhavemybabies. dmbdood - the only thing i've heard mayer do when it comes to dave is defend himself when people ask him to play some dmb... quote: "why don't you go to a dave concert and ask to hear some john mayer?" which i find hilarious myself. i love john's work. an awesome lyricist, guitarist, and great guy in general in my opinion. this song is obviously about sex. but it's put so beautifully that it gives a different approach to sex as opposed to the typical guy's opinion. |
