| The Spill Canvas – Natalie Marie and 1cc Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I hate to sound stuck up, but nobody that hasn't been skitzofrinic can relate to this song. This is truly the struggle is someone's head with dispelling his skitzofrinic delusions from his head. I love this song because it is covered in symbolism from the title to the last verse. Also towards the end it begs the question: "What is true love worth?" Truly the title portrays a struggle between two kinds of medicine. First, 1cc is a measurement of medicine (not actually a medicine and especially not drugs). This song couldn't be any less about drugs or heroin. As furthor proof of this, drugs are not measured in cc's they are measured in grams or in the case of heroin ml. ONLY MEDICINE is still measured in cc's because 1 cc is = to 1 ml but a cc was invented before the metric system. So 1cc has to do with medicine (probably for sktizofrinia) Natalie Marie as medicine is hard for a lot people to understand. This is why you can't relate unless you have been skitzofrinic. People that are skitzofrinic are that way because they create delusions in their brain that are so powerful they can't tell them from reality. Hence: "No, I believe that you're not just conjured up No, I believe 'cause I feel it when we touch" The delusions are like medicine because they distract a person from their real problems. For instance: you are homeless and you make believe a best friend that keeps you warm at night. As far as the hobo is concerned he is warm and safe and is thus medicated from his problems. Hence: "You make it dry when it's raining outside You warm my blood when the temperature dies You're my crutch when it's all to hard to bare See without you here I could not be anywhere" Unfortunately, this is not a good medicine because it can also cripple an otherwise productive person. The fantasies can take over and make a person do strange things. Hence: "I spent every cent I had just to buy the things that you would ultimately never get And now I'm starting to believe that I'm really going crazy 'cause I can't recall when we met" Part of the sing describes how amazing Natalie Marie really is. It shows how she saved him. "A wide eyed flutter is a sign of beauty" - Wide eyes and big eye lashes are beautiful "and the violins they swell" - a swell is a symbol on sheet music that sounds like a fade in. This line means she is so beautiful she is worth of song (like the one he is singing?) The rest of that verse is how she helped him: "I lost everything I own I don't need it, can't you tell? Oh, all I truly need is you (Natalie Marie) This disturbing make-believe's come true (Natalie Marie)" Now that the two elements of the song are defined the rest of the song is the relation between those two elements. Clearly, there is a conflict between 1cc and Natalie because the 1cc will kill her. Unfortunately, he loves Natalie, so he has to choose between killing his true love and being insane. If society could accept his medicine. If he could make sense of her in a way that other people couse understand then he could keep both. "Yeah there's a method to my madness If only I could find it I could make you safe See there's a therapist trying to tell me that you are just a figment of my tainted brain" By the end he chooses to kill her to return to society. However, he regrets his decision. Is true love more important than sanity? If your soul mate is myth of your tainted brain then what is there to live for? "Natalie, it turns out that your were just my sick little fantasy So I tried to pry you from my head Now look at me It appears as if I've injured myself severely, yeah But like the doctor said you were always dead Now I'm in stitches over you and over you, oh Now I'm in stitches over you and over you, oh" Yes, it is a superb song. However, just try to keep in mind that it can be superb without you relating to it. I think if he loves Natalie then he shouldn't take the medicine, no matter what society thinks. |

| Thursday – War All The Time Lyrics | 20 years ago |

this song has a lot to do with every part of american culture degenerating, there is reference to 9/11 but it says that america is falling apart not just since then but before but there is a few positive messages in there... while suicide is an option it also shows that you can reach out to other people "we don't know where to land so we kiss like little kids- " |

| Thursday – Tomorrow I'll Be You Lyrics | 20 years ago |

"tommorow ill be you" means he is merely going to turn to the same state of mind as her. He is giving up his hopeless chace to bridge an obvious division between him and a girl noting a loss of comunication at the begining "the frequency's breaking up" the next lines i address to try and fit it to my meaning i had to think about a long time and i think they are genious "shatter the lens. pull out the shards. choke on her words. caught in your throat." this signifises the hurt of her words and furthur loss of clairity, the painful shards of glass that is the words of dislike. the ending i am not sure weather it means that "we are cured" as in he doesnt hurt anymore or they are together again. i LOVE thursday because of this deep meaning, i even think system of a down is easy to figure out. |
