"your all fucking disgusting. plain and simple. i garuntee you if you said johnny rotten was a bloody punk to his face he'd spit in yours.do you really think he'd associate himself with the douche bags who call themselves punks. think on that for a tick"

Hehe....may'be...nowadays his passport probably says "Reality TV show contestant/Wildlife Presenter". I am not criticising him for it, if we are stupid enough to continually worry about whether John Lydon is a sell out then why should he be concerned. He never asked to be the spokesperson for a generation - they were a truly great band that went against the grain, woke everyone up and alongside a few others, opened the door for everyone else. Does the punk semantic debate really really matter ?

Paul Simon – The Boxer Lyrics 17 years ago
Hmmm.....not sure about the fanfare for the common man. Isn't this song really a veiled reference to Bob Dylan ?

Billy Bragg – A New England Lyrics 17 years ago
Hehe...it really isn't grams folks, it's prams. It isn't a reference to drugs but to motherhood. Dead$y was totally correct. As far as other recommended BB stuff if you like New England...I would try Waiting for the Great Leap Forward and Accident Waiting to Happen, for a bit of sentimentality Tank Park Salute, for some British observation This Saturday Boy, for pop Sexuality and for some blood and guts socilaism that will get you misty eyed The Internationale, Power in the Union. Basically the man is a living deity to soft old woolly trots like me and should be given listed building status.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros – Johnny Appleseed Lyrics 17 years ago
" seen the music video for "Johnny Appleseed" and it's Joe and the boys walking through a foreign country where the market is on the street". Don't know the exact location but it looks a bit like Camden to me. Not foreign to Senor Strummer.

Anyway, I think this song is summed up by the chrous "If you're after getting the honey, Then you don't go killing all the bees". Its clearly about the sad decline of beekeeping in inner London and the direct impact on prices of honey in Islington.

The Rolling Stones – Tumbling Dice Lyrics 17 years ago
Is it just me or am I the only one who can only grasp 20% of the lyrics in this song. It justs make me laugh every time I hear it. I normally challenge people to give me an entire verse.

It's a Smiths song and, as I remember, Johnny Marr plays the guitar on this cover.

Ol bignoses tribute to the joys of Thatcher's Britain in the 80's. A truly great song (even though the first two lines are nicked from "The Leaves that are Green" by Simon and Garfunkel)

Apie - "life on earth to the second birth and the man was in command" "now life will return in this electric storm" "come from greed, never born of seed"

If that's not Frankenstein I don't know what is (by the way, forget the Brannagh De Niro rubbish - read the book)
