| Ampere – Woodlawn Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the last part leads me to believe that the person did not die, but that they changed drastically and became somebody else. he wants the old person to open up their eyes and turn back into who they used to be. also, maybe the person who changed was somebody he was in a relationship with? honestly, i can only guess. ampere rules. | |

| AFI – Kiss and Control Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
amazing song. the best part is by far, "'now i wanna die like movie stars,' you said. as you jumped from the height of our cuttingroom floor. while above us glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light and death. hold me and tell me we'll burn like stars, we'll burn as we fall. watch as city lights trasform us..." |

| AFI – The Days Of The Phoenix Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
it's about the phoenix [www.thephoenixtheater.com]. afi used to play there all of the time before they were as big as they are now. "The figure on the bed all dressed up in roses, calling, beckoning to sleep, offering a dream." and "The girl on the wall always waited for me, She was always smiling..." if you have ever been to the phoenix, (i go almost every friday and saturday because i live in petaluma) you should have noticed all of the random art work that lines the walls. davey is probably referring to a piece of art that was there at the time, most likely in the lobby, that he would look at as he fell asleep on one of the ratty couches that they have there. "The circle of rage, the ghost on the stage appeared." and "Ghost stories handed down reach secret tunnels below." these lines are talking about the myths and stories that surround the phoenix. some people say that certain areas of the phoenix are haunted. tom gaffey (owner) hardly ever opens the balcony because he and others feel that it is haunted. i think we all knwo that circle of rage si referrint to the pit and the people dancing. the ghost on the stage is in reference to the spirits that inhabit the place. the ghost stories handed down is rather blatant, and the tunnels below are talking about the basement of the phoenix. it is also said that there are spirits down there. that's all i have to say. back to my homework so i can go out this friday/saturday. |

| At the Drive-In – Heliotrope Lyrics | 20 years ago |

i think where it says, "taking rations from the ballet box" it's supposed to say, "sneaking rations from the ballet box" listen closely, that first word starts with an "s"... |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This song has defeated its purpose entirely. In fact, it's somewhat hypocritical now. "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." |

I think they're mocking the "scene." In fact, I know they are. ♥ Josh. |

| Zedd138: Aren't all times modern? | |
| Million Dead – The Rise And Fall Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is about how the natives and other people who have less social capital than most of America now, were actually the peoples, the cultures, the customs, that our society is roughly based on today. For example: “they brought a zero to our tired calculations” is talking about either the Babylonians or the Mayans, who are both said to have “created” the number zero simultaneously and supposedly independently of one another. | |
